Our designated JC Transfer "shooter" didn't want the ball last night. Filled a spot while Nick took a breather but is an example of how much stronger Akron's bench was. I hope we can expect a lot more from him and Kadeem Green in the future but I am not hopeful.
With a 12 man roster we had 5 guys who were not able to play against upper level opponents. I hope we don't continue this trend.

I got news for you. The only guy that wanted the ball last night was Reggie.

I thought Walt did too. He took it to the basket strong, shot confidently. He also grabbed strong rebounds. Unfortunately, in the second half he missed layups or had them blocked.

He did in the beginning but he stopped taking it to the hoop later with a couple of exceptions.  There were a number of times where he was in a good position to take his guy off the dribble but passed it off.

I think Travis did a great job this year. He didn't look to shoot in the title game but Akron did a great job of closing out on all of our outside shooters. It pains me to say props to them, but "props to them." I think Travis will be a great leader next year.

I am more concerned with Kadeem. Where was he this year? No reason given by JC as to why he didn't get playing time? I thought he did decent in the games he had extended minutes in. Are you telling me that when we're getting clobbered by Treadwell inside and Jon Smith and T.J. are in foul trouble that Kadeem and his 6-9 frame couldn't have given us some quality minutes? There has to be a reason? No work ethic in practice? Head case? Because on physicality alone he is bigger than everyone but Reg and should have been used last night!

Wilkins was what 5-5 last game out against Akron? Maybe he was a little higher up on the scouting report this time. You have to give Akron's d some credit, they suffocated Coop with multiple long defenders and made it tough for him to find open shooters.

Green already redshirted his first year at Missouri. Can't redshirt again.

I disagree OUVan, without going play for play, he crashed the offensive boards all 2nd half and was still aggressive to the end. He just missed layups or was blocked.

I love walt but I really think he played out of position most of his time at OHIO. He should have been a #2.  Just too small to take it into the trees and consistently score (especially after the knee operations).  And,  believe that contributed to our rebounding problems.
