Today, this seems like easy pickins.  Lots of solid candidates over the last 24 hours.

Of course, the list starts with me.

Oh.  Wait a minute.  That cowing already happened.

It would be honor to be #2 on that list.

A lot of folks around here are starting to sound like OSU fans. To me, that's equally as disappointing as last night's game.

This.

I don't know if we will ever again see a group that will embrace us as much as we embrace them. It has been a pure pleasure to traipse around the countryside with this group of players and parents. It speaks to our culture.

Ima take a little break from this part of the intertubes for a while. I pretty sure a good deal of you won't be around when I come back. And that's ok. Have a great time suggesting what new conference your next bandwagon team should join.

Echo your comments Pete. The ride was simply magical. To the team and their parents: Thank You! Classy kids and equally classy Parents. Hold your heads high! You've collectively set a very high bar for future Bobcat teams to aspire to. The memories are PRICELESS!

Anyone who is angry with a coach who took us to our best conference record in school history and first regular season title since the early 1990's. We beat every team in the MAC but Akron who was clearly the best team in the conference. Wake up people, we have a flawed team that won 14 conference games and fell a half shy of the NCAA's because the shot making vanished. If this angers you, find another bandwagon to jump on.

I'm certainly not one of those who think the sky is falling. I've stated numerous times I think JC "could" end up a better coach with more success than Groce in the long run. That being said, I'm not a huge JC fan per se and you can't help but feel really REALLY disappointed about how this season played out. I'll never stop cheering for the Bobcats no matter what yahoo is running the ship. I mean I stuck in through TOS, I can make it through anyone. I'm willing to give JC a couple years to install his players and system and see where this goes.

I do enjoy people running their mouths telling others to "go away" or "find another bandwagon to jump on" any time they express their concern or criticism of the team and future though. That's an AWESOME way to build a fanbase. About as effective as a certain Cleveland Browns exec texting "go root for Buffalo".

If we have to build a fan base by adding "fans" who silently wait around just to pile on every time something goes wrong, count me among those who would rather see our fan base shrink.  What a miserable way to live one's life.

The last four seasons have been a wonderful run that we can only hope continues but can we and the media quit making things up.  Both the 64-65 (11-1) and the 69 - 70(9-1) teams had better conference records.  The same goes for all of this "on record" student attendance talk. For many years you just showed your ID and went through the turnstile and there was absolutely no way to know how many people in attendance were students or non-students.  There is no doubt that our fan support dwarfs the rest of the MAC.  Let's just let it go at that and quit playing the semantics game and enjoy the success of all of our teams.

Yeah, I've decided to take some time away from this place, too. Too many people who've gone completely irrational.  I'm sure a lot of people around the conference, especially Akron people, got a real hoot out of the meltdown that happened on this board last night.  See you on the football side, where I'm sure Solich's head will be on the block for not winning the MAC championship even once yet.

This is exactly the problem.  I don't mean to pick on you but you really think that TOS' tenure was the measuring stick on what a true fan is?  There are about 8 teams in the MAC that would kill to put up with what we put up with under TOS.  And the problem isn't finding this season a disappointment and voicing that.  It's the overwhelming obsession on it and not even entertaining the fact that this was a possibility given the coaching change.  And maybe you are getting lumped in with all the other sky-is-falling crowd wrongfully but while this season had a lot of disappointing aspects it was hardly a failure. A lot of really good things happened along the way, not least of which is winning a share of the MAC title. Something we haven't done since Gary Trent was a sophomore.
