Crawl back in your holes and STFU!!! Thank you CATS for another fine year. For those of you that are blaming the coach for this, you are clueless!

Very proud of this team and this group of seniors.   I feel bad for them......you think we feel bad, how bout the players who actually where the uniforms.    I hope they can refocus and make a great run in the NIT.   Go OHIO!

Yeah! Let's be all happy about ****** our pants and not reaching our goal of taking to this program to a higher level. This thinking and thread makes me sick.  nothing to be served from NIT With this senior group who was suppose to show for 40 minutes of a MAC championship game.

Not saying they didn't **** down their pants, but sometimes it happens.   Relax.   This team/senior class HAS elevated Ohio basketball, but they had a bad game.   It happens.   Having a great run in the NIT will continue to push the program forward.

agreed. we shouldn't accept losing to Akron 3 times. we aren't some undertalented team trying to compete with a superior team. we have the talent to beat them and other good teams but failed to even come close in all attempts.

unacceptable with this group.

JC has brought no energy to this program and is a failure after tonight.  He has underachieved on an epic level and that was before tonight.  Coaching IS about having you kids ready to play for 40 minutes.  NIT with this group is a waste.

Totally agree.  This is very unfortunate from the success of last year.

First off we have to actually get INTO the NIT. That's no lock at this point. I'd say we're squarely on the NIT bubble honestly.

You make a good point though. A run to the NIT final four at MSG would get us about the same national publicity/awareness as a first round NCAA exit. Nobody cares about the NIT before then though IMO.

The problem is there's no way in hades this team is making a run to the NIT final 4 if they even get in. There aren't enough MAC cupcakes to beat.

If this team underachieved on an epic level, how would you characterize the 2005-06 and 2010-11 teams, who had similar expectations and achieved less?

You speak as if you have some some coaching insight when you use the word clueless.  Please share.

While you're at it please share why Coach Dambrot would do something so silly as say oh.... putting his tallest defender and all time leading shot blocker against one of the hardest to defend PGs there is in college?

The only leauge games we lost the entire season was to one team who had superior talent. I wish we had the run we had last year but as I indicated in previous posts about team chemistry and mental toughness are intangibles which are not easliy remedied. Hopefully, new talent will rectify the situation. We had a great run. I am going to be as charitable as I can, but to suggest the situation was due to coaching is either made out of silliness or ignorace.

We lost several league games last year and though we had a great amount of returning talent we lost to the one team that had superior talent. When you have coached at the high school level (as I have) or at the college level, one can make substantive critiques about the nuances of losing to one league team with superior talent. However, to blame it on the coach is made either out of silliness or ignorance.

From now on, all threads should start out 'STFU.'

Brilliant.

I only wonder why you didn't reiterate at the end of your post.

Obviously two other examples of EPIC coaching failures.

I really don't get how ohio9704 enjoys sports that just make him miserable. I remember his constant complaining the entire North Carolina game last year in the chat. If he was a fan of UCLA in their heyday he would have still been miserable.

So, then exactly what does a coach do? Is he a potted plant on the sideline, with no responsibility for the performance of his team?

If winning the MAC for the first time in 18 years is an epic level of underachievement, then let me be the first to congratulate coach, Coop and company for raising expectations to this level.

It's not raising expectations.  It's raising the bar on things people will complain about.

With the team that was coming back, not returning to the NCAA Tournament should be considered a major disappointment. You can't sugar coat it any other way.

To me it is disappointing not to return,  it not major. We were fairly fortunate last year, and I appreciated what we accomplished. I'd give the season a B or B-... No NCAA or big OCC wins, but we shared MAC title.

It would appear you have no idea yourself what a coach can or can't do, since you have no coaching experience. Perhaps your question could better be asked if you first started coaching at the say "sixth grade level" and then move up to the junior high level and then the high school level. I would think at that point you would understand the nuances of coaching.

From the sarcastic tone of your reponse to my post, I would say at this point you have no idea what a coach can and can't do. Perhaps a little on the job training might help.
