The board the last few days has reminded me of this quote.

(94) Wins
(41) MAC Wins
(7) Postseason Games Played
(4) Consecutive Postseason Tournaments
(3) MAC Championship Appearances
(3) NCAA Wins
(2) NCAA Appearances
(2) Mac Tournament Titles
(2) Wins against Georgetown & Michigan
(1) Mac Regular Season Title
(1) Sweet Sixteen
(1) Player setting an NCAA all-time record
(1) NIT Appearance

A lot of sunshine is getting blocked out by people focusing on the finish.

While I was certainly disappointed by the last two games, no use in spoiling a very potent junction punch bowl.

My only hope in all of this is the next group to grab the torch carries it equally as far.

With 23 wins next year, Nick, TJ, and Rico will become the winningest class in Ohio history.

With 21 wins a year over the next two years Stevie Taylor will become the winningest player in Ohio history.

Something to look forward to I hope.

Remember that time back in 2006 when we took a bet on which Trancendentalist would be quoted in a topic head first? Sure you do. I called Emerson. Everyone owes me $10 and the board crashed so you're going to have to take my word for it. I think most everybody else had Thoreau. Couple had Louisa May Alcott. I remember a William Elery Channing out of nowhere, too.

Judging by the sideburns, I bet Emerson would've been an ABA fan. But  would've perhaps been unnerved by the names of the Kentucky Colonels, Virginia Squires and the San Diego Conquistadors. However, a huge fan of the Oakland Oaks and Pittsburgh Condors.

All true and these seniors deserve all the praise we can heap on them as they've represented Ohio fantastically!!  Thank you Coop, Walt, Reggie and Ivo!!

These are Coach Groce recruits.  Will we be able to say the same of Coach Christian's recruits?  Hopefully.  We'll see soon enough.

And that would be great but what is this recent preoccupation with irrelevant numbers.  If I have six pockets in my pants I can certainly fit more marbles in them than a guy with four.

And if you have six buckets of cold water, you can snuff out more enthusiasm than if you have four.

While the season ended with a distinctive "thud", when was the last time we could talk about and fondly remember such success?  Next season will come soon enough so let's enjoy the memories this outstanding group of OHIO players gave us while they are fresh.
