On the other hand, as a coach, if my guy can't get an open lane or a shot of do I play him for 36 minutes?  I think some should ask JC that question.

Who would he defer to? That was part of the problem down the stretch. We didn't have a consistent bench scorer. I do understand your point. Just kind of rationalizing why Walt played through a tough night. Like others, I feel bad that it ended that way for Walt and don't think it was due to a lack of effort.

I would agree.  I don't think Walt lacked effort.   He's had a ton of games this year where he just didn't seem to look for his shot.  Just two weeks ago he was 0-3 against Buffalo.  He was 1-1 against Wofford this year.  He had 13 games this year where he took 6 or fewer shots.  He took 50 fewer shots this year than he did last year and 50 fewer free throws.    But I can honestly say that I didn't notice any difference for him on the defensive end this year.

The weird thing about Walt is that after our tournament run you got the feeling that he was finding his groove and would roll that into a monster senior season where he would be option 1B next to DJ this season.  It never happened... I love Walt's game because he can do a bit of everything, I just think he was always too passive on offense.
