Another domino tumbles leaving the CAA a shell of what it was just two years ago.  They've now lost VCU, Old Dominion, George Mason and Georgia State in the last year.

I'm holding out for the MVC.  10 team league with a true round-robin schedule.   .[sigh]   A-10 can be my safety school.

Some on the UMass board have suggested that.  UMASSHOOPS is a pretty funny read right now on conference alignment.  Their fans sound a lot like the Temple FB fans used to.  They haven't been to the NCAA's since the '90's, but you would think they were Kentucky if you read their posts.  Lotta water under the bridge since coach Cal was there, breaking rules and such.

I had to do a double check on that but you're right. They haven't been to the tournament in 15 years. That's hard to believe.  Other than Calipari cheating them to prominence they have a pretty lackluster history.  They made the tournament every year from 1992-98 but have only made it once outside of that in their entire history.

I'd be a fan of either move, for all sports except football.  Obviously the MAC is fine with having UMass as football only, why not Ohio?

And yet the MAC wants to have this "up and coming" program as part of it's conference for only football.  Brilliant.

Speaking of George Mason.  Heading out now to take my boys to the Mason-Western Michigan game tonight to see the last remaining MAC team standing.

Honestly, if we were going to the A-10 or MVC, don't you guys think someone would of heard some sort of whistle in the rumor wind by now?
