I was bummed in a big way last night, and this morning.  Then a few emails back and forth made me realize that it's been a good year that just happened to end in a disappointing way.  The way I see it, the high's out weigh the lows over the last two seasons by a large margin.  I'll take seasons like the last two for another 5-6 in a row before I feel like we should be asking for more.

It doesn't matter when Ohio loses, the last loss is always depressing.  It never gets easy, never will.

However, I'm happy to look over the 4 years these guys gave us.  I could have watched them play forever, but you only get the four.  This is way better than Brandon Hunter and Steve Esterkamp walking out of here without even tasting postseason, regular season title, NCAA wins, etc.

They'll always have the Dean Dome though.

You're right; it hurts so much because they accomplished so much.

I'm proud to be a Bobcat. I love my school. I love my team. Saturday didn't change that, tonight doesn't change that.

Go Ohio.

Amen.

I'm not going to pretend I'm not disappointed, because I am.  We were spoiled after the last 3 years.  I'm not going to point blame because in the grand scheme of things, this is just college basketball.  But that being said, I'm not sure how much these seniors know how much they meant to Bobcat Nation.  We were there with them for all the highs and lows, but bottom line, we were with them.  Next year, they will not be there on the floor with us, but this senior group is never going to be forgotten.  Coop, Reg, Ivo, Walt, D-Mac, Goff...thank you.

Stop and chew on this for a minute.  With all of Akron's successes in the last 7 seasons, they have 0 NCAA tourney wins.  I believe they have 0 NCAA tourney wins in their history.  We had 3 in 3 seasons.  Beating teams like Georgetown and Michigan, and pushing UNC to the absolute brink.  We were spoiled.  And I hope we stay spoiled for a long time.

And the biggest difference between the two teams:  the point guard.

You're right. The point is a big key. The high major teams usually trump mid majors at guard.

How many NCAA, NIT, CBI or CIT wins does JC have in his entire head coaching career?   This is the one thing that worried me the most when he was hired.  I'm still not ready to say he won't be successful here.  But, I do have concerns about how he'll do in the tourneys even once he has "his own guys."  I hope that my concern is unfounded. GO OHIO!
