IMO basketball all together has become much too physical.  It's legal and you play to the strengths of your team and what the refs are allowing, but I really hate the slow down, slugfest, 50 points in a game, type games.  At times it almost seems as though they need to play 4 on 4, or widen the court and raise the height of the basket or just something so it doesn't seem like they're nerf basketball games played in someones bedroom by 6 foot guys on a 7 foot door.

Hard to believe they missed the goal tend at the beginning, the kicked ball right in front of one official, the grab on GRIII's arm on the made basket, and Behannon got absolutely mugged on his rebounding extravaganza in that one sequence.  But the flow was absolutely better.  Those calls would not have infringed on the flow of the game.

OCF you've just been conditioned to watch horrible officiating over the past season such as ridiculous charge/block calls, ticky tack hand check fouls, laughable continuation calls, and taking 10 min to sort out milisecond clock issues at the end of the game. The officials let them play tonight and the result was finally a watchable NCAA tournament game.

You may be right, but I thought I saw at least one take down (not called) that would have made Frank Solich want to recruit a new DB.  At one point the announcers said that a particularly good call shouldn't have been made because before the defender knocked the guy who formerly held the ball to the ground with his shoulder and forearm that he had "touched the ball."  So, touching the ball first makes all subsequent contact OK?  We wouldn't even let that one stand in the pick-up league that I still play in.  Yes, a little incidental contact on a steal is one thing, but knocking the opponent to the ground is quite another.  I remember one play in one of our pickup games where on a switch off I ended up guarding the largest guy on the court.  He lowered his shoulder right into my chest went for the basket and sent me flying into the retracted bleachers.  This gentleman immediately called a charge on himself, as I lay dazed on the floor.  Last night that would have been incidental contact!  At least that's my perspective.  It would be interesting to go back and look at a number of the calls (and non calls) last night in slow mo and see if my old eyes were seeing things right in real time or not.
