So the wife and I are finally moving back to Ohio, we met at OU.  I left my job which had me traveling year round to fundraise with different political candidates.  We've been looking for somewhere in Ohio to settle down and she landed a job back home first, in Cleveland (she's from NE OH and I'm from Cincy).  So this is where we are going to be.  I've already sold her that we should be season ticket holders for basketball as an excuse to get down for multiple games during the year and she is sold because she loves OUr basketball team.  Can anyone give me some positives of being a bobcat club member?  I know tickets for the dance come into play but what else?  In 2012 we were here in MO so we traveled to St. Louis for the sweet 16 and stayed at the same hotel as the team for the event (great experience with the pre-game event and players hanging out).

I want her to be sold to give to the the Bobcat Club.  The perks are the part that I think can help sell her.

Glad you're interested in the OBC.  If you go to http://www.ohiobobcats.com/bobcatclub/, I think a lot of your questions will be answered.

There are numerous perks for donating to the OBC.  Mainly, you get the satisfaction of knowing that you are contributing to a solid athletic program moving in the right direction.  You are helping the student athletes.

Sounds like you won't need to do much hard selling, but here are the things I like:

- Supporting the programs and school monetarily to the extent that I can
- Priority access to certain things (beer tent at tailgates, Rohr Room)
- Ticketing benefits (MACC, popular away games, etc.)

Things that I don't care much about but others might:

- Parking passes
- "Insider" access
- Tax benefits

This chart is pretty useful.

I kind of have a love/hate relationship with the Bobcat Club.  On one hand because of the points that we've accumulated over the years, I like the "better" seats that we get in Cleveland and the fact that we're pretty much guaranteed good seats for the bowl games and MAC championship although access isn't really the issue because there have always been plenty available for all events.  On the other hand, I don't like the fact that to keep our football seats (sardine can/Champions Club) on the 50 or our basketball seats (6th row between the three point line and half court), we have to give to the obc general account as opposed to a sport specific account like you used to be able to do.

On the other hand, when you take into account that the $18 million in student fees subsidizes our ticket prices, the amount required to keep those good seats is more than offset.  I really don't think most people realize how cheap our ticket prices are because of the student subsidy.  The same applies to concerts.  We saw the Addams Family Tuesday night for $27 a ticket.  That same ticket in Portsmouth, OH, the night before the OU performance was almost $60.  The difference?  Student tuition and fees subsidized our tickets in Mem Aud.

So you also give a certain amount and then you can purchase season tickets for each sport?  Or does that money subtract from the season ticket total?  Not that it makes a big difference but I was a little confused reading about the season tickets.  I'm thinking about getting football tickets (definitely getting basketball tickets).

The season ticket price is in addition to the Bobcat Club donation.  There is a required donation per seat.

Depending where you want to sit, some season tickets do not require a contribution.  Obviously, the better the seats the larger the required obc fee.

However, if you already give at an unrestricted OBC level that exceeds the amount of the per seat donation, you do not have to double up on donations, unless of course you choose to do so.

For football, the chairback seats are the only ones that require donations. Here's a pretty good breakdown of seat locations and the donation levels: http://www.ohiobobcats.com/tickets/premium-tickets-13.html

Yeah, some perquisites and you get the better seats at games.

Though you are already an excellent person by being an OHIO, the Bobcat Club makes you an even better person.

Gotta look good on your resume!

While there are many perks, the highlight of an OBC membership is that SBH will hold you in higher regard.
