FOr the west to stop sucking BSU needs to step up.

Latest rumors are pretty much the same as I am hearing from locals close to the program. Excited for most of these. I like the direction this is going for the most part. Can not imagine Brownell leaving Clemson though.

Am I crazy or should they at least talk to Dan Dakich? I know he didnt set the world on fire at BG but i feel like Ball is a better job and with his Indiana connections he could recruit there. Dakich is quickly becoming one of my favorite analysts on espn, he definitely knows his stuff.

They absolutely HATE anything IU or connected with it. Fife and Dakich to them are off limits. The anti Dak sentiments on bsufans.com is huge and vocal.

I love Dak on the radio but he is infinitely betteer at this than he ever was at coaching.

Rekeweg is a great coach silently building a resume. Holtmann is a solid choice with a ton of recuriting every summer in IN. Those would be my top 2.....I am still shocked not to see Ford and Walker (who was here before) in the mix. Maybe the pay is better on the bench at UI

Hey Born
What about the Notre Dame connection?  I just felt that AD would go that direction.

May not want to go that direction after the Billy Taylor experiment.

Yes!  The MAC becomes much better when Western, BSU, and Toledo are solid and respectable.

Billy Taylor is a Notre Dame connection.

I dunno. I like the way he is palyig it close to the vest here. Not much leaking out but I did notice that interim coach Mickey Hosier started following me on Twitter this morning so I must be doing simething right

NOw heard Jim Molinari *(western Ill) and Dane Fife resurfacing as rumours. Scholl is being very tight lipped. Matt Graves (butler) loses a bit of traction in the rumouir mill. Purdue associate head Jack Owens hit the mill today also.

This may be totally unrelated to the BSU job search, but do you think we will see Dustin Ford as a head coach in the MAC in the next few years?  Bowling Green?

A head coaching job in Indiana.  That couldn't be attractive to anyone.

THe Illini board has had a couple of posts lately wondering how long they were going to get to keep him.  It is common knowledge that he has prepared he scout on several of their key wins.

I don't know if he will land in the MAC. How long till Hunter retires?

BSU had Butler, IU, and Purdue on the schedule this year. I know it's in state, but that's more marquee games than any other MAC team had.

Lots of applicants.

FIfe is out. Neubauer from EKU been mentioned. Nagy from So Dakota out.

Interesting read today

www.thestarpress.com/article/20130404/SPORTS20/304040050/Ball-State-down-its-basketball-coach-finalists

Been following many sources on this

I had to argue in a tweet something that just frosted my balls

9m

Charlie Coles further said, "Ball State is the best job in the MAC when it comes to basketball."

Feel free to respond to that statement with your own tweets.

Serious question: How much money would you pay to watch Charlie Coles and borna argue about basketball, especially MAC stuff?

Charlie's been known to have a dry sense of humor. Sure he wasn't utilizing it with his BSU"best" job in the MAC comments Borna?

I don't know but the winner of the debate should get a complimentary Bobcat Club membership.

Charlie may have been referring to the past 30 years of tradition.  If that is taken into consideration, one could argue that Ball State has had the potential to be the best job in the MAC.  But if you look at trends over the past 10 years, re:  financial investment, fan support, etc., I think Ohio has passed Ball State as being a better job in men's basketball.

On the subject of Whit......nice article

If you have time to waste or are REAAALLLY suffering from lackahoops or you just need a reason to tear your bleeding painful eyes out of your head  there is a 29 page coaching thread. Probably the longest thread I have ever seen on this passionless BSU board

Ball State could be the best job in the MAC.

Ball State should be the best job in the MAC.

Ball State isn't the best job in the MAC.

For those of us with short term memory, OHIO is clearly the best job in the MAC, but yes, Ball State was once a primo gig in this conference.  And the MAC doesn't revive itself until Ball State becomes a force in this conference once again. We need BSU, Miami, Toledo to join Ohio, Akron and Kent near the top. The reason the MAC sucks isn't because Akron and Ohio aren't doing enough to carry the torch. It's because some of our most tradition-rich programs suck ass lately.

WHitford uses the same ppack line defensive principles as Groce taught. Nice tutorial for those who have wondered what the Pack Line is.....that whole tree of folks teaches and lives by the Pack Line.

Gotta love free information.
