Apparently two gold medals aren't enough for Mr. Preparing You For Life. Any chance Pop had at leading the US is gone now.

Okay, I'll admit I'm ignorant, but I don't see this as a reason for disliking a man. Let's see...Coach K has coached the last four US teams, twice in the Olympics, twice in the World Championships. In that time, he has gone 33-1, winning the last 26 games the team has played. In that time, he won the Olympic title twice and the world championships once.

You bring up Pops. He has twice been an assistant head coach for the US team. Those two teams are also the two 'dream teams' that have fared the worst of all. At the 2004 Olympics, the team went 5-3. In the 2002 World Championships, the team finished 6th. So in 17 career games, his teams went a total of 11-6. I'm not sure how that proves he should get his shot at the next round.

This complaint strikes me as somebody hating someone, then framing something to fit that hatred not necessarily supported by facts or reason.

Count me in on the "boo effing hoo" analysis. Coach K is a bad guy because he's done a good job with the USA Mens Team and has decided to keep coaching it? Sounds like sour grapes on your part.

It's not sour grapes, it's straight-up whining and bitterness. Get it right.

Prolly about finished. Really stretching for some off-season banter I guess.

I thought it was pretty obvious not serious. Apparently I was the only one to think that.

What has Pop even won lately, a lousy playoff game? While he was doing that, my favorite NBA Team was winning an entire lottery.

It's no secret, JSF likes to spread the wealth and hates those that hoard it for themselves.

Not at all. Yes, I don't like Coach K, yes, I love Pop, yes, I would like Pop to get a chance at the gig, but I don't actually hold this against the King of Duke. I would coach the Olympic team as long as I could if given the chance.
