I remember thinking, pre-Abreu suspension, that Akron could be even better next season despite losing Zeke. Losing their starting point guard changed that way of thinking.

However, with Diggs, who started in place of Abreu at point guard early in the previous season, returning I might have to put the Zips back at the top of my pre-season MAC predictions.

I think they have to be by default...who else would?? On that note, though, the MAC is certainly there for the taking this year!

I just wonder what effect VCU's shellacking of Akron in the Big Dance will have on Akron's psyche this offseason.

I'm a big believer in UB this year. I think they have the makings of a 20-win team that should compete for a MAC Title.

They return their starting PG Oldham who was hurt most of last year, return a senior McCrea, junior Will Regan who ended last year very strong, another year of growth for Jarryn Skeete who can move to a 2. I really think they'll contend for a MAC Title with Akron, plus they give the Zips struggles.

I'm undecided how good I think OU will be. I think we'll still be decent but I think it'll come down to UB and Akron in the East.

Getting humbled in the first round of the NCAA last year did wonders for Michigan this year.

After watching our entire returning squad, building on the prior year, win another MAC title and go to the FInalFour this year, I can say with 100% positive certainty that last year is a perfect predictor of the next year.

Of course, the thing Akron has going for it is continuity in coaching.  Like him or not, the kids seem to have bought into Dambrot's program, and they don't have to get used to someone else.
