Also, Trent vs BG in 1994 was on a Saturday and was between 2 contenders with star players (did Trent and Daniels overlap?), with students and band, and was sibs weekend if I'm not mistaken.
Yeah, I don't remember what year it was. Maybe 1995? 1993? But I'm pretty sure (not 100%) it was a Wednesday night.

Biggest difference in this comparison? Trent and Daniels were 2 of several future NBA players dotting MAC rosters back before the turn of the century. Not too many since.
I was at game too and it was 100% not on a Wednesday, it was on a weekend. I know this for a fact because I had friends from BG come down for the weekend and specifically for the game. It was also tied into a special weekend - either sibs weekend or parents weekend. I can’t remember which, but I remember it being one of those because it helped with the crowd. Still, the main thing was having two good teams led by two great MAC basketball players. Trent and Daniels were awesome. To this day that game still stands out to me as one of the times where Ohio basketball felt like “big time” basketball. There was excitement about the game and matchup leading up the game, the crowd kept coming and coming, and watching the Convo fill up like that was awesome. BG jumped ahead early, then Trent had a monster game. The atmosphere was electric and it felt - for one afternoon - like a major college basketball environment. Best of all, no smart phones or social media existed. Meaning, the students that turned out were there to actually watch the game. For the entire game. Not sitting there scrolling on their phone while the game went on in front of them. It was just a different time and sadly, probably won’t be replicated again. Sure Ohio has had a few packed games since over the years like the one vs Miami when Trent’s number was retired. But that BG/OU game was just different. Trent wasn’t in a suit watching his jersey high raised up above, he was wearing it while playing on the court. It made all the difference. I’ve seen teams like Kentucky, Virginia and Wisconsin come to the Convo after that day and nothing touches what we had for that BG/OU MAC battle. I’m just glad to have been a part of it, it witness and experience it.

Ohio hosted Bowling Green on Saturdays in 1994-95 and 1995-96 seasons and on a Wednesday during the 1996-97 season. Antonio Daniels played for BG each of those 3 seasons but the 1996-97 season was post Gary Trent as a Bobcat. It's likely I'm recalling a full or nearly full Convo from the 1996-97 season.

An absolute 100% accurate description of this night.....Saturday February 19, 1994. I was there as well. It wasn't a sellout but it felt like 12K in the house. Almost positive it was sibs weekend.

Trent scored 46 points and I can't remember how many dunks. He abused Floyd Miller that night. God...he was electric. It was the best atmosphere I've ever seen in the Convo when we regularly played Saturday night home games. I tried to find a link to the boxscore, but couldn't. If anyone finds it, post it here. That BG team had more than just Daniels as well. Really good team.

I also can't help but think in today's world, what Trent would have made to transfer after his freshman year. I would say minimum 1.5 million...hell..maybe more. For the younger generation here...there will never, ever be a player like Trent come through this program again. He makes Enrique Freeman look average.

Chances are I was at this game as well. Daniels, a future NBA player, was actually the 3rd leading scorer on that BG team behind Shane Kline-Ruminski and Shane Komives. I've also looked for box scores from this era without success.

And now fast forward 29 years and the head coach of that Bowling Green team....Jim Larranaga...is now the 6th all-time winningest head coach in college basketball history. Remarkable.

Larranaga doesn't get enough credit. He did a nice job at BG and then at G. Mason and now with the Canes. Very good coach.

It has gotten bad enough with Miles that I am ok with him out so that Ajay gets more run. He needs minutes. Miles will go down as a solid dude who was a proper Bobcat but never approached his 2,000 pts from HS. Boals' first class was solid. Still wish the Lundo mystery was figured out also. Hope Miles returns but Ajay needs minutes.

More turnovers (4) than FGs (3) at the second media time out.

Marty and Rob mentioned it a couple of minutes before the game. Said it was the same injury that had kept him out previously.

Listless.

Going through the motions.

Losing to a team missing a 15 point and 17 point scorer.

Lose this game...and it's pretty much rock bottom for this program.

Elmore James also is not playing today. Oops, I mean showing up. I was tough on Saul and must admit, this is some crappy basketball being played at The Convo by a Boals team that maybe wasn't even as bad as SaulBall. I just have no idea what OUr identity is and the players also do not seem to know. And glad to see IJ continue to take up a courtside seat.

Wiz, Clayton, Cornish, SHeldon and Hunter lineup out of the 3rd media time out. First time seeing this combo this year?

Hard to say anything else at this stage of the season. And for those who think The Whiz has improved the season, go back and watch the first 15 minutes. He broke two backboards with layups and bricked two foul shots. The good times continue to roll.

If we could shoot, we would be dangerous. Is it confidence or lack of technique? Whatever we won’t start winning until our opponents stop outshooting us.

Free Ben Nichol. I have no idea if he is solid but why not? If we redshirt him and he ends up good he will leave us for Country Roads anyways. FREE NICHOL

Sheldon is showing he can play offense at this level. Now he just needs to learn how to play defense.

Is his defense any worse than others? I don't see it

At this point, I don't even care about his defense. He's the only guy out there showing fire and making shots.
