This team suffers because it does not have a true point guard. What we need is a floor general. The offense completely uncoordinated. It's a bunch of individuals playing street ball. My assessment is that there's lots of talent out on the court but we lack a real dime dropper.

Burris… the incoming PG isn’t much of a passer either..

Might be Mr. Basketball, but only averaged 2 assist last season to go along with 18 points, 8 boards.

He’s tall too. 6’5”.

Not good news. I don't exactly understand the recruiting strategy with PG's who can't distribute the ball. Guy sounds more like a SG than a PG.

Correct.
I've seen PGs in the TVC than can distribute better than Hunter. He's a good ball handler but not a floor general. Two different things.

And Reef isn't a PG either. So basically our starting PG for next year is going to be found in the portal.

It wouldn’t totally shock me if Reef re-enters the portal now that the two-time transfer rule doesn’t uphold. His buddy will be gone and his stats will be padded more.

We hope. Our starting big man was supposed to come from the portal for this year, too.

I wonder if we would ever kick the tires on a guy like Luke Chicone at John Carroll?

Played one year at Youngstown as a freshman off the bench "Ended the season as one of Division I's leaders in assist-to-turnover ratio (3.4)" according to his bio.

Currently has a 3.0 assit/TO ratio. (Jaylin, team leader in assists, is 2.1 for example) Also leads the team in scoring with 20ppg, 5 assists. Shoots 38% from 3. Averages 33 minutes a game. Played 30 last season.

I've been checking in on him since Luke Frazier moved there with a few of his buddies and they've been killing it. Luke is averaging 18 a game for them.

Chicone looks like a floor general type that we sorely need. Even if it's off the bench. Reminds me a lot of Tommy Schmock.

Think we obviously still need to dive into the portal to find a big, but these days we have to get a little creative. This kid can play. Regardless of level.
