No live stats, no box score, no photo gallery, no in-game updates, no pregame story in The Post, nothing yet from WOUB.
Seriously...make it make sense?
Nobody cares. There, it makes sense.

In fairness, there is now a piece on WOUB's youtube channel. But not to have a box score or live stats I now have to only believe that's by design to give Troy very little scout.

Seems like 10-15 years ago we had far more self-starters in student media. It's one thing to have the school. It's another to WANT to command the work. Decker was covering high school tournament volleyball so I'm sure he'd have no qualms about asking this, but considering we are sitting on an open scholarship, only three bigs on the roster, losing Dwight, how is IJ's status not asked in the postgame presser?
The self starters are self-starting on other programs that are making them names. Gridiron Glory, Hardwood Heros, and this year they have what is a 9 station network in SE Ohio of radio stations broadcasting their postgame show. These kids are working where they can get their face and voice on tape, print is dying, and the really good ones understand, they are marketing themselves to the larger audience.

Judging from the tone on this thread with this topic, it seems like a lot of people care.
There, it makes sense.

Meanwhile at Mem Aud, Any Colour treated the rather large crowd to a great Pink Floyd show including the entire Dark Side of the Moon album. Not sure why the game went up against this concert that has a very large local following.

Yeah let me tell you. I checked Duke's schedule. They make sure to avoid the local Pink Floyd cover band and the...what was the excuse in football...oh yes the Mothman festival, at all costs.

If your priorities are Mothman festivals and Pink Floyd cover bands over Ohio sports - then Ohio sports has a problem. And I mean "your" in the collective sense, not any specific person.

High Points: the 110 sounded really good

Lows: G Wiz getting his shot blocked by Otterbein's 6-7 backup center

Could you explain the "has a problem" statement? I've had basketball season tickets since the 90s but given the choice between an exhibition game with Otterbein and Any Colour, there was no choice. I saw several Convo regulars in Mem Aud too. Really not sure how choosing to go to Mem Aud is a problem.

For you, or any single individual it isn't. If it's at the scale that it impacts attendance in any noticeable or quantitative amount, then the University is doomed.

If sports are such a low priority that you're trying to schedule around cover bands nobody has heard of and biddy football games then you might as well pack up shop and call it a day because that means basically nobody REALLY cares.

The Otterbein game was on Thursday, Any Colour was on Saturday, not sure what you guys are arguing about, or why.

As pointed out, I mistakenly thought the game and the concert were the same day. You can call them a cover band, but they have a huge local following and are far better than the many cover bands touring today. As for biddy league basketball, not sure anyone said anything about that. They have commented and I agree, that playing on Tuesday night's in a rural area with a long tradition of high school basketball games that night, does cut into attendance. The days of football, basketball played by the boys team and baseball capturing everyone's attention are long gone. That's why enhancing the customer experience is so crucial today. Average just doesn't get it and I'm not talking about OU specifically but spending choices in general.
