Who did we scrimmage last season? Wasn't it Cincinnati? Dayton? And OU beat their ass... and allegedly... the coach was mad because Boals was literally pressing the whole time? Calling timeouts down to the very last second to get plays run?
I could've made that up. I think I recall this being real though.
Anyway, losing is never good, but a scrimmage is just a practice. It's gonna take some time to figure out this small ball line-up.
While I'd love Arkley back and full MAC coverage, I'd settle for a small fee paid subscription service to pay for a resident aspiring broadcast journalism major at OU to just provide consistent and inside Bobcats content.
Student beat reporter.
Yes...I didn't mean Arkley as the only one who could do it. I'll take anyone at this point.
I mean, we say this damn near weekly on this forum.
And we all circle back to the same thing... how does one of the best journalism schools in the country not have a dedicated group of student reporters for athletics? This should be a COVETED role. Internship credit. Access to athletes and games. Real world work experience. Leave school with a huge portfolio of writing samples and a full reel to use?
I'm baffled. Every year I'm baffled. This has to be an institutional failure, I refuse to believe there isn't an appetite among students. Especially the hungry ones who are hustling to get writing credits and their face out there.
