True.  But what was Indiana thinking when it took Hibbert out twice late in game 2--last play of OT and, it think, last moments of regulation, allowing Miami to tie it at end regulation, win it in OT.  If Miami could have chosen what players Indy put on the floor, their first move would've been sit Hibbert in both those instances.

People complaining about flopping are worse than the flopping. I think some people think because NBA guys are big and strong, they should never fall. Case in point being all the flopping controversy surrounding Lebron when he was pushed by Nazr. Yes, these guys are big, but so are all the opponents. It's safer to absorb the contact and fall anyway, instead of trying to fight momentum to avoid a possible flopping warning. This flopping controversy seems to be nothing more than another opening for people to say "oh man, back in the day we didn't do that." Yeah, sure. If only we had multiple camera angles, hundreds of sports shows and countless social networks to discuss things in the past.

Those focused on flopping are missing the NBA at an all-time high.

In my opinion the NBA at an all time high is still not something I want to watch.  But that is just me.  It could have something to do with the ESPN mentality of making everything seem way more important than it is. Maybe we could have more "experts" before, during, and after games to be certain we know what we just saw.

Then watch just the game, and then go take a nice walk, clean the house or do something else with that free time. Just because sports in general are at this point overcovered doesn't mean you can't just watch the game only.

Heck, you can even DVR games and they take up less time than ever before once you cut out commercials.

My point is that I just don't like NBA games.  It relates to another thread about the "state of the game".  I recognize the amazing athleticism and all of that.  I would agree that the players are at an all time high in general and thus the NBA can probably also be considered at an all time high  I just don't enjoy it.  Again that is just me.

As for the massive coverage of all sports I agree with you about the many possible alternatives and have done them all.  my issue is that sports and news channels seemed to have entered into a circular world where they need to both report the news and become the news.  This keeps people tuning into both the events and then them or vice versa.
I get it from the marketing point of view but it is just more than I can take most of the time.

My opinion is not meant to be a reflection on you, your opinion or anyone else's.  It just is what it is.
