Four scholarships for next year (2014-2015) still open.  I think I'd spend some more quality time targeting a few Indiana kids during this very important July evaluation period.

Shouldn't the thread title be TOS to Butler?

Now that Butler regards itslef as a "big time" program, I expect that Collier will hire someone with previous head coaching experience.

Imagine that. The guy from New Castle that I originally thought should succeed TOS in the replacement thread so long ago finally gets his first Head Job. Big First Gig. Will be interesting to see what his first 6 years brings. I have long been a fan and think Collier hit another home run. Still think he should have jumped at the OHIO job way back when but really happy when JG did.

Best quote from Brad a couple of days back....... "every time we have changed coaches at Butler the new guy has taken the program one step higher, When the new coach gets here I will be right there watching him cut nets"

I give it 6 months before we are shocked and appalled that Butler is under investigation for a myriad of NCAA rule violations.

About the same amount of time Stevens will realize he's in way over his head in Boston.  Coaching an NBA team with a storied history is a whole lot different from coaching at a Horizon/A10 school in Cowtown West.  Those Celtics fans will want immediate results, and if he doesn't deliver he'll be toast.

You are absolutely incorrect.  It is not like he is taking over the team with Pierce, KG, Rondo, JTerry, etc.  He is taking over a team built to tank.  Celtic fans know this, he will have three years to build.  If it is bad in three years, then he will get heat.  That is why he was given a six year contract.

Worst case scenario, he makes a ton of money, fails in the NBA, and comes back to the college ranks with his pick of jobs.

Not ever gonna happen under the previous regimes and I would be shocked if it happens under B Miller. I have long suspected there ws something going on up in COwtown for the squeaky clean kid from New Castle to walk away from tO$U a couple of day s prior to the July recruiting period.

Stevens is a great coach, but being a great coach doesn't always mean much in the NBA.
