...That's what USA Today College Basketball has projected.
They've seen him play?  They must really appreciate point guards from Ohio.  Even had a pic of Stevie, and of course, a mention of DJ.

He did start as a freshman at Texas Tech and played well, correct?

No doubt a good player, to start as a freshman, but I was surprised that they gave a first-year player that kind of respect...Also, I was thinking Stevie and he would be splitting minutes from an earlier report; pretty hard to get conference numbers in half the game, unless Coach plays them together for spells.  (I think assist numbers will be the determining factor).
It's pretty exciting to look forward to how this shakes out.

I'm guessing there will be times when they're both on the court.

I love Stevie, but my guess is Bean gets the majority of the minutes.  Starting at a Big 12 schools a Frosh is a big deal, even if they are always bottom half.

This may be a bold prediction, but Bean may make us forget about DJ pretty quickly....

Will Bean jack up threes from half court?

You can't have point guard by committee. Someone will get the majority of the minutes. I'd put my money on Willis.

Stevie came on strong at the end of last year - as sometimes happens with a player - I can't remember exactly the moment KVK looked like a ballplayer, but when he made that jump, he never regressed back.  If Stevie can add drive and dish to his repetoire, he'll be hard to keep on the bench.

I'm going to go on record and say I seriously doubt we are going to forget DJ anytime soon.  You can talk all you want about the difference in the level of competition but DJ sure didn't look out of place against the big boys as a freshman.  I highly doubt that a PG with a negative asst/to ratio is going to supplant DJ in the Ohio pantheon of star PGs.  DJ's freshman numbers absolutely destroy Bean's.  I'm not knocking Willis. I think Willis can be good and effective but DJ was a once in a generation-type player for Ohio.

Bean is a 24yr old former Rivals top 100 4 star recruit with 2 years of starting experience in the BigXII and a year of tutelage with JC, no offense to Stevie because I love how he bleeds green, but if we're going to make a big run we need Bean to be even better than Stevie.

Perhaps. But I feel like his defensive ceiling is "liability." He'd have to be really, really good on the other end to compensate for his deficiencies on defense.

Stevie has really benefited from the increased emphasis on weight training and has actually played well in the pre-season.  Bean is, however, a much better defender.

I'm seeing this as a plus for both Bean and Stevie. Added confidence and pre-season cred for Bean, added motivation for Stevie (which I think he prolly actually likes/will feed off of).

We got a couple good PG's, w/the occasional 2 good ball handlers out top (i.e. DJ and Stevie on the floor at the same time - that was a fruitful scenario occasionally LY - lotta us wanted to see more of it)
