Good balanced scoring in the 1st half. Bobcats up 37-22.  Lots of outside shots though. 6-14 on 3s.

So having a simple disagreement on a couple of issues makes a person small-minded?

Moving on to things that matter, is the Bean thing a one-time deal? I assume if it was a major thing, they wouldn't be doing stories about him on the website.

The court case was dismissed... I would assume he hasn't had any run-ins with the law since then.

Per Christians' post came press conference (via Arkley's twitter), it was a wrong place wrong time kind of thing and he's been "phenomenal" ever since.

That's good to hear. Hopefully our two-headed point guard will be one of our strengths.

Willis is only suspended for today. Stevie looked really good today. I'm high on him - I love his mindset and he doesn't have any big weaknesses. He and Bean at PG this year should be pretty good.

Nice crowd today. Good student turnout. Locals did alright. N. Iowa should be 9K or so.

On the webcast issue - today really should have been streamed online. Lets build this program. If we want to build a big program - have to take steps to ensure that.

Peden has so many problems - but stadiums all over the country, at every level, run out of hot drinks nearing the end of the game. I think the student side had hot drinks until the 3rd quarter or so against Miami - so I don't think they ran out in 15 minutes.

I'm not sure I get why he'd be suspended for a dismissed charge.

Having charges filed and, perhaps, doing something that violate a team rule are not necessarily mutually exclusive.
For example, having many beers then driving under the influence and possibly being formally charged with driving under the influence and then being convicted of driving under the influence or having the charges dropped are all different outcomes of the same action.

In an early post of this thread Coach Christian said something to the effect that "it was a wrong place at wrong time sort of thing"  The coach should have some discretion in taking disciplinary actions without having to justify them to anyone other than his players and boss.

Any quick analysis of the team based on the exhibition? Just wondering about first impressions.

Taller, bigger, leaner, meaner and overall more athletic than recent Bobcat teams.  That's my first impressions.  If they get that "teamwork thing" worked out and learn JC's system I think they could be a force to be reckoned with by the end of the season.  I do think the start of the season might be rocky trying to get all of the new players to work effectively with the players back from last year.

Agree w/OCF. W/out Willis on the floor we still don't have any idea how the look will be with him. Stevie has always been a bit of a jitterbug - and was as expected - but he sure had a good game. N'Dour is clearly in a lead role right out of the gate - he plays with a LOT of energy - will be a highlight reel all year long I think. There sure was not much bangin' inside this game (and as many whistles as I expected to hear) - I expect there will be a LOT more of both vs N Iowa. Quite a few instances of getting burned w/a big pressuring out top on D and they slide in/under (all too familiar from last year - most of those new/Freshman mistakes) - N Iowa will take advantage of that if not fixed quick but that also likely due to the higher than average playing time by Mompremier and Campbell than we will see in games vs stronger opponents. The Seniors pretty much as seen before and as advertised - Kellog & Wilkens knocked down a decent number of 3's - Hall, Johnson, and Smith solid minutes. The execution on set O often less than snappy, sorta expected for first game and no Willis.

I think the N Iowa game is gonna be a real battle.

I agree with the physical impressions.  The young guys will need to spend some time in the fitness/weight room but everyone seemed to be able to move pretty well.  Looked obvious to me that they were working on some specific sets. (actually saw an in-bound play under our basket that was executed through all the options and ended up with a basket).

Ashland was fairly athletic and did some nice things but was not really a big challenge.  Even so it seemed like there were not many let downs on either end of the floor for the Bobcats.  In my opinion, Coach Christian was pretty active with in-game coaching, also on both sides of the ball. Think that Bean Willis will add much to the rotation possibilities.

It will be a fun, frustrating at times, year.

I saw a write up about Northern Iowa that stated they lost a lot from last year.  They do have a transfer from Tennessee.  here is the link to the story.
