He came to play this year. I love, love, love that he wanted the ball in his hands for the last shot. I also love that it was a strong drive to the hoop instead of a 35' fadeaway. The Cats are better when he is on the floor. Well done Stevie!

Seemed as though internally Willis was universally considered to be the guy that would start this season.  Stevie, always a crowd favorite, almost seemed too immature to be the floor general and was more a "spurt" type guy--throw him out there to spell the starter and if he's hot then maybe leave him in a little longer than normal.

Stevie has really stepped it up and is making the decision to make the Willis the headline PG much more difficult.  My hunch is that Willis will continue to get opportuniities and that this will flow back-n-forth much of the season, but Stevie is clearly the guy right now.

I'm still not sold on where our points will come from consistently on this team and who's going to wan the ball down the stretch of tight games.  As witnessed again tonight,  I like Stevie as a guy who gives us more dynamic scoring potential and has the moxi to take big shots.

“Togetherness won this game,” Taylor said. “Last year I don’t know if we pull this one out.

Can't argue this one.
Something tells me last year's team would have found a way to lose this one.

Sort of a Winthrop-esque game.

Stevie has come up big late in games a few times these last couple of years, with limited opportunities.  I have confidence in him with the final shot.  But honestly, I think of Maurice hadn't fouled out, Nature Boy would have ended up with the rock in his hands Wednesday night.
