Reading between the lines on Dambrots comments, it sounds as if Treadwell walked out on the team and is contemplating quitting, but Dambrot isnt shutting the door on him completely just yet. This would open up the MAC East completely if Tree is not there.

That doesn't sound good at all.  Not sure how I feel about this, I want good players in the MAC...But Akron losing Treadwell puts us in the driver's seat, in my opinion.

Akron has a strange schedule coming up, only one exhibition game between now and Dec 7th. That gives Treadwell plenty of time and change his mind and go back to the team if he is so inclined.

This is definitely bad for Akron, but if I had to bet, I'd say that Tree will be back with the team soon. Even if he's suspended or pouting somewhere now, there's no better time to be doing it. The team is practically on hiatus anyway right now.

Is that different from pulling an Ivo Baltic and becoming morbidly afraid of the paint and the free throw line?  I could live with a jump shooting Tree.

I know he plays for Akron, but I have always thought he was a good story.  He was in a lot of trouble in high school at Euclid, even left school for a bit I think.  He worked his behind off to get his GPA up high enough to play and seems to have made good at Akron.  I hope everything works itself out.  Im not going to wish ill will on him, even if it is Akron.  Besides, I'd rather beat the Zips with no excuses.

He has quit on OUr school. To me, that's unforgivable.

You are talking about a 22 year old who has done more for our school than just about anyone and certainly you(An assumption, I could be wrong).  

He has played miserably lately and has looked disinterested, but he isn't the devil.  I don't know the whole story, but until I find out, I won't make the conclusion....

You don't know who I am. I graduated from OU and subsequently have worked here for over 20 years. I've busted my rear end (and continue to do so) to make this university better. Every single day, I'm bringing my best effort. I care about this school, it's students, and alumni as much as anyone. Care to the point that it hurts.

When I see how some of these player are acting (it's not just TT), it makes me very upset...furious, actually. I don't care if they're 10, 22 or 80 years old...it's not too much to ask them to WORK HARD and CARE. That doesn't mean you always win...but they should be giving their absolute BEST and MOST ELITE effort on every play. Anything less is completely unacceptable. Same goes for the coaches.

What we have seen on the football field is an absolute embarrassment. If I performed that poorly at my job, I would quit the next day and go work at McDonald's. In fact, I'd feel as though I owe the university money for letting it down.

Do these players care that much? Heck no...and that's what ticks me off.

Settle down.  It is all tongue and cheek.  We will never know what happened with Tyler.  It is obvious something is wrong with the football program at Ohio University.

20 years of service to the university is great and I applaud that.  You have certainly left more of a mark than most of us....but TT winning that game against PSU trumps that.  That may not sound good, but that win gave us tons of exposure and pride that this university could never afford if a dollar amount was placed on it.  

This is not a personal attack by any means, it is simply stating that someone who has given us so much should not be cast away.  Your rant on TT is the equivalent of if the Walter family stopped donating to OU, they would be an embarrassment to the University.....

And again... we don't know the whole story

Lets not turn this into a pissing contest about who loves Ohio University more and keep our eye on the true objective of pointing and laughing at Akron

How do you think TT will be remembered? PSU win or sitting on the field? I know what I'll probably remember.

And why are we making this all about TT? I saw a lot of players out there that are not giving it their all. Personally, I place no more blame on him than anyone else. It seems to be a cultural issue.

As the quote goes... "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel."

This group of seniors may have SAID the right things and DID some amazing things too (PSU, bowl wins, etc)...but the legacy will be how they made us feel. And I think I speak for most of us when I say that I feel embarrassed. I saw quit on the football field last night...and that's something that I'm not going to forget.

As for the Walters...if they QUIT on Ohio University, yes, they would be an embarrassment. It's not about $$$ though, it's about attitude.

Thank you for bringing some levity here. Laughing at Akron is something we can all agree upon.

I don't want to get into "who loves Ohio University more"...we all do, no question about it.

Absolutely. I know what I've seen on the field...that's all I need to see. As John Groce used to talk about, attitude and effort are non-negotiable. Anyone at the Kent game could readily decipher that a 100% effort was not being given.

But again, this isn't about TT. It's a TEAM thing. He is one of the most visible members of the team, but I don't place blame on TT. He's just a very small part of a wider cultural problem.
