My capacity for schadenfreude might max out if this level of ineptitude keeps up.

I'm just glad we've kept the basketball program up and are not in the same situation.

Dumb question: How are RPIs for D3 opponents factored into the RPI of a DI school? Is it weighted less or do teams receive a generic value from playing a D3 school?

I don't believe D3 games are factored into a D1 school's ranking at all.  For the RPI it's like the game was never played.

But if you're a bubble team, the selection committee might take it into consideration.

Some of their fans are saying this is the lowest point in Miami Athletic history and I have to agree. They are at their complete nadir in both football and basketball. Has Ohio ever been this low in both sports at the same time? Even during the bad years in football Basketball was always competitive or a contender in the MAC. The MAC office cant be happy about one of the flagship schools in the conference being the complete bottom of the barrel of division 1 in both sports. You expect this from EMU, but Miami should be better than this I would think. This is going to kill whats left of their possible attendance the rest of the year,  not that it would be good anyway. Akron is quickly becoming our chief rival in the MAC because at least it seems they are making strides in football and are already right near the top in basketball. Miami's AD needs to go

Made the cover of D3 hoops as the first D1 team to lose to a D3 in 3 years. ...great.

Message board over there is truly astounded.

Aside......does anyone else find it a bit odd that the banner on that page is fairly......pale?

I grew up around Wilmington and even entertained the idea of going to Wilmington College.

Their win over Miami is kind of special to me.

Anyway it is pretty lame to lose to a college team who shares their basketball arena with the Wilmington YMCA.

The Wilmington College campus was alive tonight with the undeniable fever that the program's greatest win ever would bring.

Or not.

My favorite post on MHT about the loss so far:

Let's drop basketball and add women's hockey

I'll try this differently:

I'm just glad we've kept the Athletic Department up and are not in the same situation.

Sadly, it's true.  We all know Akron, followed by Kent are the biggest hoops rivals now.  In football, Miami has sunk so low that we went out of our way to hate on Temple ahead of them for a few years as our biggest rival.  Now I'd say our biggest rival in football isn't even in our conference.

Just wondering but how much would Miami have had to pay Wilmington for that game?

Yeah, I know what you mean.  In all other respects my wife seems pretty smart also.
