I hate that they do this but I know when I buy season tickets that I can count on it happening at least once. There will be four empty seats that would have been occupied if the game was on Saturday. Some uptown businesses will lose some revenue too but at least we are on "national TV".

National TV (though more and more people every day are cutting the cable/satellite cord). I would say Athens businesses will lose out on a few thousand in revenue. 2 people eating dinner is easily $50-$100.

Anybody have any idea how much money we make per ticket sold? And how much money we make off of somebody once we get them in the arena?

We net about $600k per year for the TV deal. Just wondering if there's any world in which we might make that money up with more Saturday games.

The contract is for basketball and football so it would all have to be considered. I would think the Athletic Department would have this data. If so it's public information and would be readily available through a FOIA request.

Whoa.

Would not have guessed the disparity between the AAC and the MAC was roughly $6.5M

Man, our deal is better than the Sun Belt and they are much better than we are -- at least in basketball.

So I see the CBS sports deal is mentioned as a sublicensed deal with ESPN. So whats the deal with ESPN and how do all the ESPN+ games fit in?

I just received an email from Akron's ticket office and their Friday night 6pm (tonight) game is sold out. Will ours be sold out next week?
