Thanks to all my fellow alumni confirming the best days on campus included the Convo and some absolutely amazing games back in the early 70's. How I wish to return for just even one game when Jim Snyder coached those basketball teams. There have been better teams and and more success in the NCAA tourney since then, and enjoy the occasional nationally televised games from a rocking chair. Fellow grads always say Ohio is a good basketball school.

Those Clayton threes to close the gap in the first half were huge.
Anyone notice AJ stare down the Miami bench after his made threes in the first half? That's something he doesn't typically do. But one Miami scrub was constantly standing up and talking smack, and not just after a Miami player had a nice play. This kid did not see the floor but had the student section chanting for him to sit down. He then went to midcourt after the final buzzer and yelled something at the student section.

And I doubt he sees over 9,000 fans in a month of games in Millet Hall.

Good catch and I did catch it. And when it happened, I told one of my Ohio buddies that fire and emotion is something you don't see very often out of AJ. I loved it. I really think he has a chance to be 1st or 2nd team All-MAC next season. If he can just dedicate a little bit more to scoring inside the 3-point line. His defense has really surprised me. He's one of the better low post defenders in the league I think.

Probably a thread for another day, but that Miami shit talker makes me miss Granger, John T, the couple deep bench guys on that 2020 run. The comradery on that team was unmatched. Those kids are still memes on the internet for how excited they were for *everything*. Sears would hit a 3 in a 10-5 game and they would react like it was game 7 of the NBA Finals. Loved those guys.

This team really doesn't seem to have that kind of bench support or excitement in them as teams in the past have had.

they may not express it the same or be trying to get on camera as hard. Doesn't make their level of support any better or worse.

We found his name on the roster and began chanting "Sit down Jackson!" He mean mugged us / screamed at us when Fiami would score - end of game we rubbed it in his face a bit so he proceeded to hurl some explicit stuff our way. AJC and Jaylin both gave him a stare down after their 3's. Fun times!

Yeah, I felt that kid really embodied the Miami university spirit. Obnoxious confidence and elitism even when clearly bested.

Crotch Chop Andy? At least he played, and actually played pretty well against us in the Convo.

Perhaps more like Grandma Hipsher.

I assume that is 6-9 freshman Jackson Kotecki. He started earlier in the season before Mirambeaux became eligible and when 7-1 Potter was hurt. He even scored 19 points in one game, although that was against a sports manufacturing company, Spalding. The game before, however, he scored 10 against St. Bonny.

Scrub minutes or DNP in recent games.

Reminds me of the football players on Bring It On making fun of the male cheerleaders after getting blasted.

Great memories. That '68-'69 game against Indiana was my freshman year and it was the game that opened the Convo. The run of four straight victories against Big Ten schools in '69-'70 including beating the Rick Mount-lead Purdue team and Ohio A&M in Columbus got us to 5th in the country. That was also the year we lost to Notre Dame in the first round of the NCAAs in Dayton. Austin Carr was unconscious scoring 61 points against us, an NCAA tourney record that still stands. And there was no 3 point line yet, otherwise he would have had many more. I was at the games in Columbus and Dayton. I enjoyed the game in Columbus much more

Yet another funny new instance to this game - "The BrickWall" is the new Miami student section that has popped up this academic school year. They decided to throw a bit of shade our way in their gameday post so decided to let them know about the win after in our post game win post on Instagram - They proceed to clap back with "We'll see you at Millett".

YOU SURE ABOUT DAT?
