Thankfully, Kent won at BG last night. Did not want to play them coming off a loss. So at least we have that going for us.

I still can't believe ol' Reggie Bass transferred to Kent to win less games and score less points.

Going through the history of KSU basketball via Sports Reference and Wikipedia, they notoriously start slow in January and seem to find their stride toward the end of the month. Really the only outliers I can find of them having a losing record in MAC play after January were:

2017-18: Pretty much a .500 or below team all year.

2013-14: Sendy's 3rd season and doesn't have a single player I remember outside of Jimmy Hall - they finished 7-11 in MAC.

2012-13: They were 5-7 in league play after a loss to Ohio on 2/16 then got red hot and won six straight, including over Buffalo in Cleveland in the quarterfinals.

Other than that, right around now is when they get their collective sh*t together and do the normal Flashes thing of being one of the 3 best teams in the league.

As short a drive as that is, they could have been home by 1, got in two days of classes, and hit the road again.

Agreed, but I'm pretty sure Boals said in the EMU post game presser that they were going up Monday night and would stay up there all week.

When resources are lean, that would be a total waste of money.

Spending two more days in Akron. Punishment for losing?

Boals - "You think we're just gonna get back on that bus and head back to the rolling hills of Appalachia? Well think again guys. After an effort like that, I've made arrangements to imprison you lollygaggers to this God forsaken city for 3 days."

Their bus is gas so better for the environment to stay and use the electricity of the hotels.

As for studies, they could view a lecture online and have tutors with them and do some more team bonding.

Groce said the Zips were taking off Wednesday so I can see how the JAR is available to OUr guys. Is it UofM style cheating to have Dustin give a detailed scouting report after the past Friday match of the Zips and Flashes?

All MAC games are televised if you include ESPN+ thus seeing other MAC teams is really not cheating. What Michigan football did and the Houston Astros did is cheating.

Online classes? I thought Covid was over and the profs were back in front of their classes. Two nights of motels for 30 people, two days of meals, that's lots of bucks. I wonder how the Ivy League was able to do every Friday and Saturday night for their entire league season.

They're probably in Cuyahoga Falls, which allegedly has a mall.

2.5 point underdogs tonight. This feels like a good chance to turn things around...get back to "even" before heading home for 2. It is high time we win one of these close games at the end.

They should visit Callahan Auto. Heard their new brake pad division is gonna revolutionize the industry.

Not too many years ago (in my lifetime and SBH's), a Division 1 basketball team staying in Cuyahoga Falls would have been big news.

They definitely stayed. A lot of selfies of Russ this week on social media in Cuyahoga Falls documenting it all.

There's a very nice hotel there (owned by an Ohio alum) as well as several good restaurants and pubs overlooking the river. Completely new environment, lots of activity. The only candy store I know of that still sells Clark Bars.

Back in the day, the only reason to visit "downtown" Cuyahoga Falls was to see Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Of course, I realize Alan's post deals with the historical lack of diversity of "Caucasian Falls." That hasn't changed all that much. BTW, our squad is a lot more diverse than Akron or Kent's.
