The announcers are loving Wiz in the MTSU game. They have called him “agile”! They have also exclaimed “Throw it down, Big Fella!” And “It’s the Gabe Witznitzner Show!” No Lie…I heard them. Go cats.
Hahaa…The Whiz just needed my positive post pep talk this morning. Also, FJC31….on the broadcast it looked like Hadaway was yelling at himself and the official thought he was yelling at him? For the technical? WTF
MTSU transition defense has been awful and they can’t stop dribble penetration. Continue to drive.
I didn’t see exactly what happened; I was looking at my phone. Some MTSU fans did say he was directing it towards the ref but who knows.
Solid win. Sheldon and Clayton have impressed me the most this trip. I have no worries about Sheldon moving forward. He might be our best 3PT threat and taking on the big guy with contact for a basket was mean. As I said in the previous thread, Wiz is going to Jekyll and Hyde it. Played better today.
I do think Shereef is getting a little ball happy; but, if no one else (AJB/EJ4) is going to slash, at least he’s getting to the basket — just wish he could hit more than one FT. EJ4 played a little less passive, I almost wonder if he’s afraid of drawing an offensive since he’s built like an NFL RB and guys bounce off him.
When Miles returns, I wonder if that will change things for the wings since Shereef will be bumped to the second unit.
Unrelated to us — The towel kid was basically non-existent. He was on his phone so much. The student managers and assistant coaches did more work that I have to think each team complains to the Baha Mar about the courts. Player safety will be the concern for this tourney moving forward.
I think Reef with being ball happy is making up for his lost time at Creighton. But man…he can get to the hoop fast. He needs to figure out his FT’s…some real clunkers in this tournament.
FJC31 has covered it, but so far, Clayton is MVP. I am so impressed by his defense and also leadership.
AJB still not comfortable. This becomes a different team when he’s scoring. It will come.
I think Boals gave Elmore a nice talking to at halftime. He was aggressive taking it to the cup in the second half.
The Whiz didn’t miss his dunks. I can’t complain, but man, he makes me nervous when trying to hand off on the wing to a guard.
No matter what happens tomorrow, the biggest thing that came out of this tournament is that Ajay Sheldon has confidence and his teammates have confidence in Ajay Sheldon. Doesn’t feel like we are
going to see Miles anytime soon. It’s nice not to try and rush Miles back knowing Sheldon is contributing.
Make free throws tomorrow and take care of Brown.
