They're a pretty good team, evidenced by their 4-0 record. Not super deep, but balanced. 7 players play more than 20 minutes.

Garrett Johnson, their 6'8" freshman who is listed at G, is a handful. Shoots the 3 really well (50% this season). Averages 17 points and 8 rebounds. He basically plays the defacto 4 man.

Not saying they aren't a worthy opponent, but they've played all their games at home against low major competition. One of them is named "Stonehill." We'll be their first real test of the season.

This is a fun matchup. GW plays more guards like us and its big, Akingbola, seems to mirror Gabe. Need the 3-ball and FT's to drop in this one.

Did anyone else pull the trigger on going?

Russ said during the Detroit game that Miles had a "lower body injury" but it "wasn't expected to be long term." The only word on IJ, according to Russ, was he was "unavailable." Boals told Marty after the game we're "banged up." A.J. briefly went to the locker room with his shoulder, Mitchell took a hard hit when he ran into a screen, Cornish had his left wrist wrapped and it looked like the Wiz tweaked his knee. No one seemed to have his minutes limited but with only nine scholarship players available at the moment we're a couple of injuries from a major problem.

And you do realize that we have The Cornish Hen and The Legacy as walk-ons who can step in and DOMINATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe Alec Burton can walk onto the court as well--dude was a hooper in high school!

I've mentioned it a few times and then it always gets buried and I forget where it's at, so apologies if someone has addressed it... but Jack Kenneally - our 6'7" TE/WR transfer from Youngstown State (that enrolled in school, but is not playing football????) was 1st team all-state in basketball at Elyria Catholic, 2nd team all-state in football.

It's possible he just wants to be a student, but we could definitely kick the tires on him and it wouldn't be a "project".

- Foster is also a big body that could push some people around. He's filled out this year I feel like, listed at 250. 6'7".

- Kacmarek was player of the year in st louis in lacrosse so he's used to the condition aspect. 6'6" 260.

- Though if we really want to get crazy lets get Rayyan Buell in a jersey. Absolutely no one getting position on him.

Time for a fire the trainer thread. Or, does that only apply to football? Just asking for a friend over on the football forum.

Thanks for the insight on Miles, Steve. It sounds a bit reassuring. Out of curiosity, are the any Bobcatattackser's attending the tournament this year? I've contemplated for years going to such event. I'm at the point in life , where we don't have kids etc. During holidays. It would be neat to hear about others' thoughts on pricing, engagement with other Cats fans etc. ( that's a whole other post I guess) go Bobcats. Bummer for another Pay-Per- view event. The MAC is once again this year looking awful in prea-season. Ugh

Unless somebody completely goes off for us with a 25+ point game on like 10 of 12 shooting, I fear we're going to get curb stomped in this one.

I had this as an L before Miles injury and IJ's disappearance. Going to take a herculean effort now.

Cleveland St. was a statistical blip. If you play a decent team enough times they will eventually beat you.

We'll find out a lot about our squad against GW.
I like the match up and think we'll prevail.

Not sure why you feel that way. KenPom gives Ohio a 61% chance of wining and ESPN’s BPI is even more confident at 70.8%

Bart Torvik has Ohio favored by 8 with a 77% level of confidence in an Ohio victory. Will this game be close? Probably. Can OU lose this one? Absolutely but the metrics don’t think it’ll require an amazing effort. They expect a Bobcats win.

+1. It’s a tough matchup and I initially had GW as a L, but this is absolutely a winnable game.

I’ll be there. I will say booking everything individually came out significantly less than some of the packages presented through the athletic department. I also chose to stay next door rather than at the Baha Mar which was $120 cheaper per night. Day tickets are $35 and since it’s such a small, intimate, and makeshift gym, paying $200 for the VIP “courtside” tickets all weekend wasn’t worth it because you’re already so close.

No idea what to expect from an attendance standpoint.

Very interesting and promising stat development: Clayton, so far, has nearly doubled his scoring average from last year on slightly fewer shot attempts per game. My observation is he's far more selective on his three point attempts and not just chucking when he has a glimmer of room.

Sample size alert, skewed by 6 of 7, 4 of 5 from 3 against Detroit.

I wouldn’t dismiss this data point. It might be an outlier, but that’s the way trends often begin.

Awful first half for Ohio. Sloppy offensively, 10 turnovers, 2-11 from 3pt land and struggling defensively, allowing GW to shoot 52.9% including a breakaway layup at the buzzer due to a sloppy turnover by Mitchell.

Good thing Shereef didn’t have his wallet on that last drive because it would be empty. That was a mugging.
