I marvel at the optimism when it looks like we have a gaping deficiency under the basket. I do view this as a test of our coaching staff to produce a winning team with the above-mentioned shortcoming.

This group won 19 games last year and now has a year of experience together under their belts. Even with the question mark in the middle (at least we have options); I don't think it's farfetched to see them win 4-6 more games en route to a MAC title.

So far, reading these predictions, a 12-6 MAC record seems to be the consensus. Guessing that's good enough for a Top 4 seed, but unless the top is really competitive, can't see six losses winning the league.

Key will be finishing strong, then making a championship MAC Tournament run. No shame in that.

Offering a less optimistic take, I just think we will be similar to last season. Not like this is a doomsday outlook but I've seen too many seasons with MAC #1 aspirations end in that 5-6 seed range. I fear the loss of DW / blind loyalty to Wiz, and still just not sure we have great outside shooting to make up for it. I think our floor is not much lower than this, maybe 8-10...but I think our ceiling is definitely higher and won't be at all surprised if we win the MAC (regular season or tourney). Unfortunately I think Akron looks like they're in for a great season.

20-11 seems bad... I think they at least get to 20 wins, but there is a MASSIVE hole where DW3 was last season.

Ceiling is probably around 24-25 wins. They have a lot of talent at G. Could shoot a lot of people out of the gym. Hopefully. I just don't see us winning many games with our 2nd leading rebounder being 6'1".

Basement, 16-15. Think they stay above .500 - but there will be growing pains.
