I'm pretty sure Horizon went free a year before the MAC did, and with generally similar-to-better quality streams. I'll double-check tomorrow's UNI-Milwaukee game if I remember to. I recall thinking they were a leader in that area, and hoping the MAC would emulate (which they did quicker than I expected).

Of course, none of that is relevant to Butler any more.

I just went there and looked . THey did go to a free site. When Matt Howard and ZXach Hahn were playing there was such an uproar that H league TV had gone to a pay site .....My friends daughter played softball at Loyola but I refused to pay so I was SOL. I watched a minute of Peay vs Y state. Good quality.....a bit better than ours actually.

watching the EMU/UMass game, there is no reason why EMU should have a video broadcast that is so much better than ours. The camera is at center court and high enough to see all 10 players on the court at the same time, the info graphic is small and professional looking and includes the teams' logo, the half designation, the game clock AND the shot clock. And their two awful announcers are in stereo.

take my money, Ohio Athletics Dept., and fix this. I'm begging you.

I was thinking the same exact thing while watching it...except the money part. I still don't have much of that yet.

The webcast from Oakland was much, much better than ours from the Convo.  No buffering, higher resolution, clock on the screen, multiple cameras, and even instant replay.  (And yes, no aspect ratio issues.)

Yup, definitely need some webcast upgrades.

I'd be willing to pay too.

Don't know about anybody else, but I had buffering issues sporadically throughout the game.

The timing on most of their replays was lousy, too.  They cut out some of the buckets and other important live action -- for both teams -- to show a replay.  I'm sure we were getting the video feed that was running on their scoreboard, but damn it was annoying.  And sometimes they seemed to use the replay to correct their often-wrong scoreboard.

It was a free feed, but over-the-air broadcasting is free too so I have high expectations even from free feeds.

Took some time to catch on to their announcers referring to OU (Oakland University) and Ohio throughout their broadcast.  Initially kept thinking they were referring to us when they said OU.

Yeah, their replays were terrible and didn't make sense.

And, yes, the announcers had no idea that both teams are "OU." I turned them off around halftime but other than that stuff they were pretty good.

loved the production quality, minus the ill timed replays, but overall it was miles ahead of what we have.

I listed to their announcers for 90 seconds before I tapped out. Along with referring to both teams as OU in the same sentence I heard this verbal masterpiece "Kellogg is shooting half of his 3s from behind the arc." Huh? Thankfully I was able to get Russ and Rob nearly synced.
