Good test vs. Kansas tonight. Hanging tough midway through first half.

Late Kansas spurt made it 43-36 Kansas at the half.

They end up losing 93-83. The Rockets have a nice nucleus. Good size inside and tough hard-nosed guards with the likes of Pearson. They gave the Jayhawks a really good test. Toledo looks for real to me.

Haven't followed closely, but my Jayhawk buddies tell me this is a "very down year" for KU basketball.  Wishing they had been able to hang on to Anrio Adams.

losing by 10 to Kansas isn't more impressive than losing by 10 to Ohio State.

Toledo is good but with a 263 SOS their record is a little deceiving. They'll be good in conference play but I'm not worried about them.

p.s. Ohio is 3-2 vs top 100 rpi, Toledo is 0-1. Their best win is against #119 Cleveland State.

When your "down" years include the #1 and potentially #2,3,or 4 pick in the NBA draft....

Agreed - the SOS and deceiving record is why I brought up this being a good test for them.

They held together better than I expected, and I think we'll get by them at home; however, they're one of the West teams we have doubled up this season, and on the road, that might be a difficult game for our team.

as for Rio, according to a recent article he's currently playing at Odessa College and claims that's he's heard from Washington, Oregon, UCS, Arkansas, San Diego State and others regarding next year.

Since his junior year of high school ('10-'11) Rio has attended or been enrolled in 5 high schools, 2 universities and 1 junior college; with plans on attending a 3rd university next year.

In the pros, they call that being a "journeyman."

They've got four true road wins.  Morgan State and Oakland say we should be impressed by that.  They have played less than half their games at home. We should be worried about them.

I agree. I think Toledo is definitely one of the top teams in the MAC but I think we are as well. I am glad we play them in the Convo first instead of on the road first. The west road trips to EMU and Toledo are going to be two of our toughest MAC games this season along with @Kent and @Akron.

Toledo's season has similarities to our Sweet 16 season- we also started out 12-1 with votes in the AP Poll and had 6 road wins by Christmas. Unlike Toledo we beat the #2 RPI team on the road in late December although I'll admit Northern Iowa isn't Kansas.

Now if they really want to mirror our Sweet 16 season they need to start off the new year by losing 3 out of 4.

I've said it all year - Toledo is my favorite to win the conference. They have everything. Chip on the shoulder, Excellent Coaching. Strong Backcourt,  POTY Candidate, decent frontcourt, enough depth, etc etc. They are poised to take this thing.

I can tell you that if you think Akron is our biggest threat right now, you are flat out wrong. It's the Rockets. Gear up all you want for 1/12...I've got 2/1 circled.

5 high schools in 2 years?!  How is that even possible?

Does this coincide with any special weekend in Athens. First Saturday in February, there ought to be 10K+ in the house.

Odessa is averaged over 111 points per game with Adams just under 12.
