I was thinking of making a day trip if this was an afternoon start, but 6pm is an odd time. Is it a TV game?

Yes, TV. That's why it was penciled in as TBA too.

I was told by an AD employee that the primary reason was to make sure students were back on campus.  A 2 p.m. game wouldn't do that for us since so many students would still be traveling back to Athens.  Great call, i think.

I am pretty sure they have done this on move-in weekend for a couple years (at least) now.

Want to make sure students are all settled and moved back in so they can get to the game. Makes sense.

Free McDonald's should seal the deal on a good student turnout.

Well they're smart, because I probably won't be getting back until around 3 and want to go to the game.

Women's game is at 2PM as the intro to the double header day, also.  You remember those days when all games had the women's tilt as the lead game, Jimmy?

I do remember that. We also used to travel together on the bus for away MAC games. I think that started in 1980 and it was very weird at first. We had to clean up our act and couldn't spread out as usual.

The 6pm start leaves me out for the day trip. Oh well.

As I look at the schedule (at least the one on ESPN.com), I see MAC games on a lot of Sunday's, including some at 6 p.m. I assume that's the Time Warner slot?

I told Dambrot and JC that my son has a basketball game at 2 p.m. in Central Ohio.

It's on ESPN3 & ESPN Full Court, so I presume it's on TWC.

Its on TW.  TW is using the 6 p.m. slot on Saturdays and Sundays often.

Sunday evening is an AWFUL timeslot. People dread Mondays, and generally like to be home Sunday night to relax. This hurts the out-of-town crowd for sure.

But I definitely understand the desire to have students there. Since students haven't been in session for a game since Valpo, I think they deserve to make it back for one.

Have read about the student tailgate on Facebook - free flags and McD's. Should bode well for the student turnout.

Well apparently I guess I'm the only one who is perfectly happy with this game being on Sunday, I work Monday-Friday in Columbus and have to arrive very early in the morning, so weekday games are pretty much a no-go for me.

Plus, I can arrive in the early afternoon to spend some time with friends and go Uptown for a bit, which is always nice.
