So excited about this win! Kellogg showed some great leadership. Wilkens also dropped in some key 3's when Ohio needed them! Looking forward to seeing Cats take on Zippy in person this Sunday! Let's hope the Convo is rocking!!

Very ugly at times but any road win is a good win. Smith was a defensive beast.

Happy we got the win. But we need to play better if we want a title.

Yes

PG Rotation should be:

Taylor
Nick
Hall
Bean

That's the second game I've watched and Bean seemed to regress since then. The foul on the 3pt shooter at the end was horrendous. Christian immediately sat him and talked to him with his hands up like "WTF?"

Bean is still going to be an important part of the team. We need two PGs, no matter who starts or finishes. Time to get it together.

I'd move Crabtree up the depth chart ahead of Willis.

Also, it's a good sign to see this team win on the road vs Kent on a night when not much was going right. This is a bonus win that shows me they are tough competitors and able to grind out an ugly win. That's two road wins in less than a week. I'm really looking forward to Sunday night.

Wilkins came up huge. His two threes turned the tide.

Hall and Wilkins really stepped up tonite. Losing Johnson a major hit, but we may be ok if Wilkins and Hall can fill the void.

Road teams won four of the six MAC games last night, including Fiami winning at CMU.

One of the two that didn't win might be a bigger story...Toledo lost at WMU.

Huge win to start the conference slate.

I sat right behind the Kent bench. I’ve watched them in person twice this year and they just strike me as a team full of individual talent, but lacking in cohesion. When shots are falling and things are going well, they could beat anyone in the league, but they seem to wilt under adversity.

It was great to see us win despite not playing well on offense. Agree that Nick is on POY trajectory, but Jon Smith was the MVP last night in my book. He’s become a tremendous shot blocker. They gameplanned for Ndour, and he seemed to press a bit. He also had some bad luck with good shots rattling out. Though he blew several assignments that led to easy buckets, I thought Hall played well and stayed out of foul trouble. Stevie needs to be the main point guard, which has been obvious all year but was painfully obvious last night. Setty still looks like a potential-laden freshman. I think he’ll develop nicely, but he has to play smarter (stop hoisting threes and stop trying to score in the paint while triple teamed). Fantastic to see Wilkins finding his groove. This team could frustrate us a few times this year, but they have a ton of potential.

I thought that the officials were fair, but I was shocked with how much they let slide. There was a ton of contact not called on both ends, and both teams were affected by non-calls.

I’m pretty sure the Superfan has some type of mental impairment. The telltale scream is indeed annoying, but it sounds like the Flashes are the biggest thing in her life: http://susankirkman.com/MMS/kent-state-university-super-fan/

And badly.  Their defensive indifference cost them big time.  Long way to go but I'm feeling better about our chances to take home the regular season crown.  Our road win was easily the most impressive of the four and we didn't even play well.

I think Hall will impress a lot of people this year. He's a senior whose been in this program a long time and can knock down some serious three's. I think we could become a dangerous outside threat with Nick shooting what 46% from behind the arc plus having Wilkins and Hall hitting some clutch threes. We need to get the ball to the outside and have Smith and N'dour down low for the rebounds and put backs. New Game plan.

Who honestly thought were going to look sharp with transformation of our rotations due to Ric's injury. This team is showing plenty of heart going out and winning these last two on the road.

I did - I have not given up on TJ all year.

Wilkens 3 pt % could pretty much not get worse.

All upside with reinvigorated motivation for all - especially the seniors.

There was only one Ricardo Senior.

TJ, Wilkens, Smith, Kellog = 4 Seniors.

I'm sorry, I don't get the "it was ugly" part?

Missed shots by both teams and Ndour's game will likely be the worst of his MAC career were the uglies.

But except for a few minutes in the second half, the defense was outstanding.

Rebounding was a big improvement over seasons past.

Forced turnovers

Not lots of turnovers

Not lots of wild threes jacked up; using the shot clock to gain a better look advantage

Taking the ball to the basket

OUTSTANDING INTERIOR PASSING BY THE BIGS

TJ had the look that "he knows there is no pulling him out for someone on the bench"  he didn't foul, he looked good and as Kent players commented, he has long arms and causes problems down low along with the obvious Smith and Ndour.

Ugly games make you feel like switching the channel; we were all glued for the entertainment value of a road game vs a pre-season co-favorite.

A lot of truth in MonroeClassmate's last post.  The one aspect that was bad for both teams was shooting percentage, but other than that, I think MC is right.
