I can't wait to see fake Jeremy Guy's twitter that day. How is a game in front of 600 people going to showcase the conference favorably to the nation?

You think they'll draw 600 at 11am?

Rest of the games that day are pretty boring, though, that probably is the best game.

Right up there with the league's bowl performances.  It's one game of a million and west of the Mississippi, folks are still in bed or on there way to brunch.

I'm going with one or two other people. We might double the attendance.

Unfortunately, I don't think anyone making the choice is seeing how it will look to have a big arena with mostly empty seats.  Instead, they're only seeing an improved EMU team hosting one of the conference's best teams.

Playing this in the 11 A.M. timeslot makes a lot of sense. No matter what day or time the game at EMU, it is going to be an mostly empty arena.
While some schools can fill oddly timed games, I think viewers are more likely to forgive an empty arena at 11 A.M. So putting an EMU home game in there is a perfect disguise to their underlying problems.

Also, anyone see the Treg tweet about Ohio fans outnumbering the home team's fans? I have been impressed with our road crowds in hoops the past couple years. Our MACC crowd last year against Akron was insane.
Plenty of Bobcats in range of Kent for this game Wednesday!

I don't know how ESPN selects their pick up games through out the year. Whether ESPN picks it themselves or the MAC picks them, I am willing to bet a significant amount of money that whoever makes the final decision is only concerned about good basketball play, not by how  many butts there are in the seats, no matter how "impressive" it may look for the conference.

I for one and THRILLED we got picked up for ESPNU.  I know we get at least 1-2 a year, but anytime we're on national TV, I get excited.

Nobody watching the TV cares how full the arena is unless it's setting some sort of record or they're a navel-gazing message board poster.

I think Treg's quote was about the noise made by the Ohio fan contingent, not that they actually outnumbered the home fans.

So pumped for this.  Going to be in Vegas that weekend with another Bobcat.  Plan on waking up and getting breakfast, going to the sports book, putting $20 on the 'Cats and starting to drink.

So pumped!!!

That is incredible when you consider the team is not that bad.

Take a couple busses, take over the arena, group photo by the water phallus on the way out of town... sounds like a fun trip to me.

As long as you obey the signs out on the freeway to not pick up hitchhikers, since they could be escapees from the local penitentiary.

It's surpring any time TV picks something not involving Kent or Akron, let alone picking anything involving EMU ever.
