It is a "team" game, and I really think a better jelled "team" approach is what will be seen this year. However - at the end of every game and season - there is one who most think was the "MVP" of the year for overall net total contribution. Who do you think it will be? I think the question is harder to answer this preseason than in many years.

I think TJ sees this as his year - his time to make a bigger stamp in the program history. If he is indeed back to 100%, and stays healthy. He has the ability to deliver in variety of ways - on both sides of the court. Others will have bigger games, sets of games, prolly several others - but I think TJ will be the most consistently solid thread through the full year.

I agree.  Other guys like N'Dour and Willis may end up being great, but TJ is a known commodity.  Those guys are sort of "unknowns" at this point for me  We know what kind of game TJ has at this level and how good he can be when he's healthy.  I expect a good year for him.

I'm a bit surprised by the accolades for TJ.   Hope they are spot on.

Willis is the most important guy on the roster.  We need him to be the MVP.

My dark horse player for the year is Rico Johnson.

Boy are we all hoping Ndour is a total stud.......

I'm surprised by the percentage of votes for a player who has never played in a D1 game

The hype has been building on him for a while now.  I've seen the dude throw down some nice dunks on the highlight tapes, but that's about it.  Hard to know if he has polished game or if he's just a super athlete, but I think most of us are expecting about 12 and 5 a night.  Any early reports on whether Ndour is legit?

Ah - of course. But the query was not "Do you know?" - was "Who do you think"? Punditry, then further and extending with remarks encouraged.........

I say Ric because of his defensive presence, and what I perceive as his ability to contribute on the boards, on defense and in the scoring column.

I agree - that Ric will be an even Greater Role & Spot contributor. I think TJ though will be the more consistent overall contributor.

Kellog movin' up in votes. I expect a great improvement vs LY with Nick. If he has 16+ PPG (would mean the hot "3" is back, getting open looks) - and improves reaction time on D, could be the MVP.

The Ndour tally is making me think of all the excitement and celebrations for winning politicians on election nights (lotta the recruit page fodder on him almost like a political candidate ad).........

I hope we are rejoicing his first year D1 impact and success with such enthusiasm this time next year!

I voted a few days ago for Nick.  I just have hunch that he's going to be back to Sweet 16 form this year.  If some of the new guys are as good as advertised, and if we finally have a real BIG MANZ, this could be a special season.  As many have said, I kind of look for a slow start with the team getting better as the season progresses.  I'm not conceding the A&M game before the season starts, but I think we'd have much better chance if we played them in January.

So -The top five vote getters - 3 guards and a wing there - thought we we're all about Big Manz this year?

So with Ric now out, is this when TJ steps up to his preseason BA love...

I think he is ready for this challenge.

I think Kellogg will be the MVP (big shots and consistency on both ends) but Ndour will be the X factor who boasts the most potential and is the key for a bunch of success.

Kellog looking to be the MVP todate, and Ndour sure has been an X factor. I still think that TJ has the potential to play a MAJOR role through the balance of the season - time to Step Up!

In a bit of a strange twist, Kellogg will be the team MVP for the reasons stated above (big shots, consistency, etc.), but Ndour will be the only Cat on the conference first team and could be Conference POY because of his numbers and impact.
