One would thing so by what wasn't learned today on how to close out a game.  This was one of the worst performances I've seen in my 35 years of watching Bobcat basketball.  I'm really not sure what I just watched but something wasn't right out there tonight.  I'm totally stumped after the performance in the last two games.  Oh well, the beauty of basketball is that it's a long season.  Hopefully the university is open for classes tomorrow so some lessons can be learned.

Yes, classes were canceled today, so Bobcats players weren't given the chance to finally learn how to close out games halfway through the season.

The substitution of 4 players at the 13:56 mark was puzzling to me. OU was up 15-4, then did a line change like hockey. BG went into a press, and the four backups did a really poor job of getting the ball up the floor. I know the team doesnt seem to be able to play solid for the entire 40 minutes, but I have to wonder why it seems like the staff doesn't want to blow out some of these bad teams early. The energy was good from the starting five. I don't understand why four of them were taken out at the same time.

Not one single person picked BG in Pick Em for this game.  0 correct picks on a game has only happened a handful of times in 12 years.

Me too.

But sometimes you just get beat. No matter how brutal it is. A loss like this was bound to happen under Christian.

The thing I love about this team is that I know we'll get an awesome effort (and probably a W) at EMU on Saturday morning.

BG basketball does a lot of rare and unusual things. We are involved in many seemingly inexplicable situations. If you had seen us at home the other night vs NIU, you would really be perplexed.

Really really perplexed.

See you at the Stroh Center.

Go Falcons!

Well summarized. MAC Hoops can be perplexing!

Congrats on tonight's win. Until next time. Go Cats!

One of the key moments of the game. And waited too long to fix it. That has to go on JC.

Can't blame the turnovers on JC, they KILLED us.

We don't handle the zone well and haven't for years.

Nobody played zone against us last year?  EMU?  It isn't the scheme.  You have to make shots.  The wings didn't make shots.  Travis, TJ, Bean, Stevie make 3 more shots and it's another W.

Three of the turnovers in the ensuing series of plays were made by Nick K., who was a starter.  Just really silly decisions.

That is true, and he needs to take better care of the ball.  I still think bringing in four, less athletic guys that don't handle the ball very well was a mistake at the time.  I understand they can't play ironman the whole game, but I'd bring in two at a time to try to keep the flow.  Regardless, all four guards stunk it up last night, so I'm not sure any combination would have made a difference.

What looked like what was going to be a laugher rout turned into a devastating, disappointing loss.

This was a complete team loss however, including the Head Coach. Poor substitutions as mentioned by B695, horrific turnovers by the entire cast, poor inside play at both ends of the floor and virtually no bench help, speaking of which Willis/Setty really, really, really, HAVE to pick up their games.

Didn't understand the mindset of setting up for the 3 with 10secs to go? Why no inside look first, a 2 ties the game giving us a shot at OT on our court and even a miss with a potential in the act foul gives us a chance to tie the game at the line. Perplexing!

The play was designed to go inside.
