Sorry.  But those are not good points.  JSF responded to the original point of the thread.  This is not good point.

Good point is not responding to the original post.  Good point is some vague allegation about what happened in Athens decades ago.  Good point is hiding behind a pseudonym instead of posting in one's true name.  Good point is showing animus instead of reason.  Good point is that won/lost record is the only determinant of whether we actually played two solid halves.

I finally figured out Monroe's true identity: www.ohio.edu/finearts/art/faculty-staff/profiles.cfm

LOL! Just kidding, Monroe.

Good points. We won't win games against better teams with major lapses for a half. But don't you think sometimes you play to the level of your competition? If we would have squeaked by in that game, it would be more of a concern to me.

If it was one game, I wouldn't have said anything. But it has been a pattern now.

Anybody that watches or has played sports knows that CONSISTENCY is the key to winning and Championships.  So, to not worry about our lack of consistency is fool hearty.  We need more consistent PG play, more consistency 3 point shooting by the wing guys, more consistent rebounding by the biggs, and more consistent production from the bench.

Did I miss anything?

And, yes, I am happy with where we are but I am a bit worried about how we end up without more...CONSISTENCY!

Cheers!

This might be the funniest post I have ever read anywhere!  Thank you for that moment of laughter.

No sarcasm in my post.  Just enjoyment!

As I already stated you don't have to play a perfect 40 minutes to win. Nobody will play a perfect game consistently. So yes you don't have to play a full game consistently to win a championship. If we consistently come out slow and then consistently come out firing in the second half and win. Then we are consistently winning. Which is all I care about and which is all that matters. Now would it be easier to win if we came out faster. yes, but lets be fair. Its hard to do that when you are playing an inferior opponent away from home in front of a tiny crowd. especially when there's a target on your back. We are one of the top teams in the conference, teams are going to be coming out with a lot of energy trying to beat us and that's not an easy thing to match. So there really is no reason to hit the panic button. we're winning games.... by 19. why are we concerned.

No one's panicking.  But let's whup the lesser teams early and get our young/new players a lot of playing time.

Campbell is coming on, Bean seems to be getting better.  Wilkins good.  Jon = Jon.  Nick being Nick.  Stevie and Setty are energy.  Etc.   I'm hoping Mo starts to realize how superior he can be.  The development should help cure the inconstency, I'd hope.

No huge gripe from me, though.  This team has generally been a lot better than 4 months ago I thought.  I like the way we play together.  Our good stretches are pretty fine.  Let's just get knock the 'nothing' stretches down by 50%.

I don't know who most of you guys think we are but we ain't the 90 UNLV Runnin Rebels.  I get that we want to be the next (insert Gonzaga, Butler, VCU) but we are Ohio.

Pretty sure no one here thinks we're the 90 Runnin Rebels (but it would be fun to see JC chew on a towel).

Exactly what do you mean by "but we are Ohio"? They were Gonzaga, Butler, and VCU 10 years ago also..............

Aethelred - quite the "character". Certainly an artistic genius - and an Athens treasure. The dude played football at Michigan. I just can't see that in my mind! He has always had a very "chiseled" physique, and definitely has stamina. Were the football gear, helmets, face masks, pads, etc. like knights in armor to him? The practices and games like epic moral and philosophical struggles/clashes?

Hey, you have all the answers ... call McDavis and nominate yourself to take over both football and b-ball. I responded to your once again uninformed nonsensical drivel. You're nothing more than a Monday morning QB. I'm so sure you know more about football than Solich and more about BB than Christian.

Oh yeah ... good point (per your drivel) is saying we should have been up 8-10 at half when, in fact, you didn't see the 1st half.  Take a step back .. THINK before you post!

which part?

I had the pleasure of spending time with Monroe. He does not remind me of Mr Eldridge much.

There are a great many artists in our family. Way back when I was an adolescent that name popped up and it has stayed with me resurfacing in conversations over family dinners off and on. Odd names like that and Wilberforce, for example, have always piqued my interest. Thank goodness for the internet where so much info comes so fast and answers a great many of the questions that I do not even know exist.
