Can't remember what game I was watching this weekend (ours? Clipper game?) but there was a fast break in which the guard with the ball stopped at the three point line on the right side. The defender who was 2-3 feet from the guy with the ball drifted back into the lane to help with cutters. This defender had to know that there was a teammate in the lane trying to guard two cutters.
The guy with the ball at the three point line, with the defender having drifted back into the lane (leaving the guy with the ball at the 3-point line open), took his time to set himself and hit a 3ball.
I'm not sure that the concept of not defending the guy with the ball is the height of the art of defense.
