It would be a great tribute if JC and staff rocked green turtlenecks for the game.

Yep.  That's why I moved to ESPN3.

It's funny how Reghi is so pro Ohio today.  Don't know if he's just trying to keep people watching or if he hates Fiami as much as we do.

Basketball is a pretty easy game when every shot you take goes in, hey Fiami?

Poor JC is feeling the effects of Groce's lousy recruiting--no junior class other than Stevie?  Football board talks about lousy 2010 effecting Cats, well, Stevie's class is just as thin.

Not much to say about today.  Ugly.  We won.  Good for redhawk to think that they have us and then lose it, especially over dragged out last two minutes.

Nick kept us in in it..well, vaguely close...early.  Then Wilkins turned it.

What's with the second half giving up a redhawk hoop withing 4 seconds of one of our hoops about five times?

We just gotta be better on D and start playing better in first half.  (Play two second halves and don't play any first halves.)

Would help if we attacked a 2-3 zone with a guy at the FT line and a guy down low.  We did it once with ndour to jon for a stuff.  It is basic stuff.  Of course knocking them down in half two was the difference along with Miami cooling off.

This team is just gonna struggle 'cause they are so thin in numbers.  TJ and one of the two bench biggs need to step it up along with bean to give us a serviceable 8 guys...

Always enjoy beating Miami...  My favorite team to beat.  Miami still sucks...

So....I guess we're what they'd call a 2nd half team.

Only a true genius would have this idea. Good job by JC to honor Coach Coles.

My observations:

1). When we were not hitting our open 3s and MU was we could have easily gone down 20 points but the decision to just get points from closer to the basket was a momentum changer.  We ended up shooting 46% in the first half, which seems impossible when I think of the game.  They out scored us by 11 points in foul shots and by 6 points in 3 point shots. In retrospect, the poise the team showed during that half was pretty good.

2) John Cooper's working of the refs was really annoying.  They were shooting the double bonus with 10 minutes to go in the half and he spent much of every timeout conversing with a ref.  seems to me that he might have worn out his welcome.

3) we made there defense look really good for a while in the first half. Our spacing was horrible at times when we had 3 shooters within 8-10 feet of each other. It allowed them to collapse their zone and get some hands on Maurice when we did get him the ball.

4) liked the use of Bean better today.  For some reason if he starts with the ball at the point our offense stops. Today the offense, off the pressure, started with Nick more often.  More movement and fluidity ensued. I thought his looks at the basket were acceptable today, even though they didn't drop.

5) Back to point 2. I am watching the replay and John Cooper had to be reminded by one of his assistance that they needed him in the huddle during a time out as he was in the face of 2 refs. That will get old to watch.

6) While kind of  quiet at times, the Convo crowd did not leave.

I'll be honest, watching at work, I missed most of the first and caught most of the second, so I got the good part for sure. But, during that run, the place sounded awesome on the broadcast. OU - Oh yeah in the middle of the second half was loud on TV, and went on for quite a while. Great crowd shots in the broadcast - seriously high major atmosphere in the building in that second half.

Good to hear. Because for the first few back & forths of the OU/OYEAH is was as loud as I remember in the Convo. And we were probably 3K or so from capacity. But still a great turnout.

Apparently some still don't understand atmosphere - like the jerks in platinum seats asking others to sit down. Why do they even come????? Go to a friggin' movie or something instead.......

Politely ask them if they know the name of our fight song.  Upon their response, remind them that every time they do not oblige, a kitten dies.

You do have a pretty "sit down" section RS except for that one guy to your left who never sits down.  Those folks would probably tell you to sit down at a Lynrd Skynrd concert during Free Bird.

I'm glad we've established that for basketball this season. After starting at last year's football games, I think that the stadium wide OU/Oh Yeah's are pretty ingrained. When I stood up to start it, everyone immediately knew what to do, instead of a couple people on the O Zone side yelling "Oh Yeah". Even Roddy got into it!
