It's a possible 2:30 start in Alumni Arena when the Bobcats run against the Bulls. The game is the back end of an old school MAC double header, which usually means the broadcaster has to fill time. I've spent time contemplating options other than enjoying the sound of his own voice. The best I've come up with is a recap package of each year's Wendy's commercials. I'm feeling nostalgic for the spot where the woman paid 99 Junior Bacon Cheeseburgers for a sweater.

The forecast for Friday travel into Buffalo is in the 20s, breezy with light snow showers. Saturday it is expected to clear up into minor precipitation and partly cloudy. This being a Buffalo weather forecast, I cut and pasted it into freetranslation.com. To the average southeast Ohio resident, the weekend at New York's State University will be white out conditions and significant accumulations in drift prone areas. Who knew?

Javon McCrea has been on fire in February, averaging 14 boards and 21 points per game on 63% shooting. Every Superman has his Kryptonite, and McCrea's is free throws. The best defense against him may be to send him to the line a lot more than the 6 times a game he's getting there in conference play. He will score fewer points per touch from the line than he will from the field.

It meant something entirely different during my student years in Lincoln Hall, but we will pay lots of attention to Freelove. In this case, it's Joshua Freelove, a highly travelled senior playing just one season after stints at Toledo, Lewis and Clark, and Alabama State. He's averaging 12 points a game.

I made that trip in a blizzard that dropped 13 inches on the thruway.....next year I flew.....cost less, took less time and left me feeling much fresher for the game. Concrete canyon....if you sit down behind the team you will be treated to the totally unoriginal and irritative student section talking through the Anthem and snickering while the announcers introduce Veterans who have served our country. Parking is OK but take an umbrella if it is raining....it s a walk.

The last time I was there it was WInter Weekend and the Ice Maze was downtown with 3 or 4K people in the snow sliding down an off ramp that had been turned into a toboggan run....

Concessions are ummmmm.....not very memorable. Bathrooms are on the side opposite wherever you are so go on the way in....

Everyone should go .....once.

I went 3 times....Jeff Drake will be there this weekend ....his second time so I am looking forward to hearing how that drive turns out this time as TRMD and McBin made the trip last time he went  in  another of the blinding snow/ ice storms. Interesting that the other 2 learned their lesson the first time   Some of us are a little slll00000

I haven't been impressed by Buffalo all year. We can win this one.

Buffalo hasn't played us or Akron yet. Let's see what they got because this is confusing:

Buffalo 65
Toledo 67

Buffalo 68
Ball State 71

WMU 63
Buffalo 84

Buffalo 68
BGSU 74

They haven't lost at home yet this season.  They take care of the home court.

It'll really be tough without Stevie (he's apparently not playing because of the calf injury).

Bend or break time, as far as seeding goes.

I am interested to see what Bean does as a starter. We've seen some explosiveness. More mins should only benefit a guy like him.

At the start of this season it appeared we would be 8-9 deep. Fast forward to today and we are probably 6-7 deep. RJ is out Treg is awful, & Bean has not been consistent.
If Hall & Stevie are out for today's game it will be an uphill battle and we would probably need some help from Buffalo to get a win.

This has the makings of a big loss to me. I'm presuming that they smell blood and would love to beat us up while we're hurting in more ways than one. If we can pull this one out, I would be amazed. Just my gut feel.

I knew Buffalo hadn't beaten Ohio in a while, but it's been 3 years 1 month and 4 days since the last time (6 games).  I have a feeling we lose a close one without Stevie.

Also per Arkley TJ "made the trip to upstate New York with the rest of the team on Friday, but Christian was non-committal about Hall’s playing time.  “He’s responded well, like I would have expected him to. We’ll see what happens,” Christian said."

Toledo (9-2)
Akron (8-3)
Buffalo (8-3)
Western Michigan (8-3)
Ohio (7-4)

To say today's game with Buffalo is big would be a gross understatement. It's a huge game! The 'Cats are 'on the outside looking in' when it comes to the coveted top 4 spots in the MAC - they can't afford really to drop this one.

No Time Warner 311 today? No problem. Got my handy-dandy radio here waiten on Russ to call the game ... "BANG!!!" ... "WHAT A BIG TIME THREE FROM WILKENS!!!"

Bean running the show today on the road. That's a bit intimidating. Hope the young man is ready to the lead the charge.

I hope you all prepared for today's game today as I did, by going out to the backyard and picking oranges and tangerines off the trees so that energy will be well fortified through the game.

Absurd to miss entire possessions because you feel compelled to show the previous play from 3 angles while live action continues, but otherwise, this production blows ours out of the water. How many cameras do they have there?
