you root for toledo to win out ....

western michigan sneaks in w/ a soft MAC west schedule ....

akron gets in ....

buffalo has a very tough schedule remaining .... drops out ....

OHIO ends up tied for second w/ akron ....

who wins the tie-breaker ?

#1 toledo  #2 OHIO #3 akron #4 western michigan

It would be scary to lose this game, but I could still see us getting seated well if we lost today.

The Akron, Western Michigan, and Buffalo rematch would probably be must wins.

Not to mention that we have to beat BG in their Super Mega high school arena.

I agree. Winning this game would go a long way and help the battle, but if we do lose all is not lost. Just makes it more of an uphill battle.

If the home teams prevail this week and we beat WMU, Buffalo beats Akron, and BG beats Toledo...There will be a 5 way tie at 1st place this week.

ThIs years MAC tournament is a complete toss up. The past few years Ohio and Akron have been the clear top 2 teams and were pretty much destined to make the finals. This year there is not one team that really stands out as a sure thing. Toledo has looked solid but I think they have been exposed a little over the past few weeks.

Does anyone else remember the year that the 4 quarterfinal games were decided by a combined total of only 6 points? Ohio beat Toledo in the round of 8 that year. It was probably the most enjoyable day of basketball I have ever experienced (NCAA Tourney not included) I think this year could be similar although the seeding system is different.

I remember that day well and agree that it was the most thrilling day of college ball that I ever witnessed. When I left the Gund, I was drained.

I'm assuming you meant to show Toledo at 14-4, right?

Assuming the rules are the same as last year, Ohio would win the tiebreaker based on having a 1-1 record vs. the No. 1 seed Toledo in this scenario, whereas Akron was 0-1.
