Still waiting for the season opener version of this team to reappear. I thought our non-conference schedule was more challenging than most on here; but definitely didn’t see us being a lucky break away against Delaware from being below .500.
We have a lot of talent (if used correctly), but I’m unsure of what this team is trying to be.
The non-conference schedule has been more difficult than many posters including myself thought before the season. The Marshall loss was the only stunning result in my opinion.
Cleveland State and Austin Peay were toss-ups on the road that I would've liked to see us win but went down to the wire and lost.
George Washington was a back-and-forth game that free throws doomed us in a 2OT loss.
We were outplayed against Youngstown State at home which is disappointing but they have talent.
Ohio has 5 losses by a combined total of 24 points. This team isn't as far away as some are alluding to but it's also troubling that they're struggling to find their identity against similarly skilled opponents.
Yea, I agree with this. Especially the last part. It’s more concerning with how we’re losing than actually losing after a completing a non-conference slate. This team has no identity and isn’t playing to its strengths.
I’m beating a dead horse on the Troy game; but I have no idea why we haven’t played that type of ball since. That brand works for this roster construction and personnel.
Get back to prioritizing cutting/slashing with EJ4 and AJB (when healthy), turn defense into offense, fast temp, and play more selfless ball. Add in more pick and rolls, don’t force the 3. We know Jaylin and Shereef can score; but I hope Boals separates them and challenges them about facilitation. We need that from them. Hadaway led us with 5 assists last night and that just can’t be.
We rank 174th in the nation for assists. For a team built on guards that number is putrid and it shows in our offense (or lack thereof).
