19 years anywhere is impressive, but considering the campus location in Olean, NY is as close to literally "in the middle of nowhere" as any other D1 school, that adds an extra degree of respect IMO.

Former NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski is the GM. Wonder if he'll be solo picking the next head coach, or input from the athletic department.

I have lots of respect for the Bonnies program under Schmidt and personally consider them a non conference rival. We've played them several times and every game has been high intensity. Maybe it is time, but I think Schmidt deserves better. I hope he gets snatched for a decent head gig right away.

Rumors that Bonnies will pay the next guy significantly less so that they can focus on paying NIL to players. Didn't realize it's the same pot. Way to tell the whole landscape you're cheap.

I don't know about that. Western Carolina is pretty far out there too. Olean is on an interstate and about the same distance from Buffalo that Athens is from Columbus. It's a quaint little town with 10 golf courses within 20 miles.

He's retiring. He's currently one of the oldest coaches in the game, and one of the most tenured. I couldn't find an updated list, but as of 2023 there were only 20 coaches who were 65+. He's right at the edge.

I doubt they fired the all-time leader in wins just because he had his first below .500 season in a decade.

Quaint? Ten golf courses?

Does Boals like golf? Could be a great match and not cost Ohio a buyout.

Ah the Swank Golf Course Proximity Index. I wonder if the SGCPI will soon be part of the various quality of life indexes that rate communities.

Well, the Bonnies won Wednesday over La Salle, that wasn't a huge surprise, but a major upset knocking off #5 George Mason on Thursday. Next up is Dayton in the quarterfinals Friday.

Last year it was Long Beach State, this year the Bonnies, anyone?

Forced out. Woj brought in players and money. Coach did not play them. Woj gave an ultimatum. Money won.
