If you get a chance to see the replay, at least the first half, it’s well worth it. After losing to BG by 20 points or more the last three years, the ladies get a huge road kill 82 to 57. I’ve been following them through about six coaches, a bit of time. Their defense is swarming, and their offense is strong, and they are deep as I’ve ever seen. Go Bobcats!i

My wife and I watched this game from the second quarter onward. My take was that we looked good in spurts and had good team chemistry. I would, however, assign a lot of the lopsided score to what appeared to be a rather hapless BG team. For such a resounding win, it seemed to me to a rather sloppy game. Case in point: we had 25 TOs and BG 22. However we shot 59 percent from beyond the arc, and BG only 33 percent.

Edit to correct typo. We had 25 TOs, not 15! And, SBH, I'm not taking away from a great win. I'm just trying to call like I seez it!

Not understanding OCF's apparent need to denigrate the win. BGSU has been a house of horrors for both our men's and women's teams. Yep, the Falcons looked bad, but our defensive pressure had a lot to do with that. The turnaround of this program has been remarkable. Hope (but kinda doubt) we can keep Bella Ranallo. Impressed with Bailey Tabeling's court presence as well. (Have a funny story about Bailey that can only be told in close company. She's a character.)

I said a few weeks ago they had a chance at 6-0 in conference play going into BG with their schedule. Well they dropped one at Kent, but BG has a pulse and we never win up there.

Umm that was putting a bag over their head and bludgeoning them with a hammer.

It's hard to imagine how ugly that result could have been if there weren't so many turnovers.

Love me a highlight reel! Seldom a miss or a mistake by the team that generates it.

Bella is a really good player who I hope we can keep as well, but until she takes better care of the ball, she's got a limit on just how good she can be. Eight turnovers in that game, and that's not her season high.

Asiah Baxter is kind of the anti-Bella. She's quietly efficient. Leads the team in rebounding, and while she doesn't take a ton of shots, she makes almost half her threes and lots of free throws. If she could cut down on some of the silly fouls, that would be wonderful.

Bailey's my favorite player as she's from the same area of Indiana as half my family. She seems like a good kid. I hope she can fully put her shooting slump behind her. Takes care of the ball, can distribute, has good defensive instincts, and does a lot of things really well.
