I am beyond excited. I almost have the wife convinced that a staycation at the Disney resort on the North Shore is a perfect family Christmas present.

Slightly weaker field when you have to replace UNLV with Loyola Marymount. I also didn't realize how weak Depaul and Hawaii are this year. Still, I'm very pleased that we are participating in a neutral site non-conference tournament. These teams look challenging but beatable.

I love Ron Baker's game. Nice example of the redshirt working well for a guy. Wichita State is recruiting pretty well too, but hey so are we!

Winning the 1st game is critical for this tournament. Staying in the "winners" bracket into the semis will assure us two more RPI building games. LMU and UH do not seem like matchups we want next season.
I hope the scheduling department gets creative and tries to schedule a West Coast road game on the way out and the way back. Collect a pay check to pay for the trip. There are plenty of schools in airport cities (that have flights direct to Honolulu) that would potentially have an opening. I can think of several: USC, UCLA, Utah, Washington, Denver, Arizona St., San Francisco and UNLV. There might even be a direct flight from Boise but I am not 100% sure. It would break up the travel so that guys don't get stiff or have back spasms from such a long flight.
I really hope we travel well for this event because I would appreciate us being in more Aloha State tournaments.

I saw Wichita play Bradley (and Geno Ford) in Peoria last week, and Cleanthony Early and Ron Baker will be tough...

Fortunately Cleanthony Early will be gone next year.

This field appeals to me very much on a personal level. I've graduated from two of the schools and lived in Wichita for 12 years and Colorado for 31 years total. I've got to figure out how to make it work out for a trip.
