Western showing a little bit of fight in the 2nd half, but this is too big a deficit to wipe out.

Hope the #MACtion social suite is stocked with lots of alcohol tomorrow night. Will be about the only thing that will make watching Akron in another MAC final tolerable.

Nope, no chance for Western. It's hopeless.

Nothing to see here. Move along.

Great. Stupid Akron is going to win this &^%$%^&** thing again so they can go to the NCAA and embarrass the MAC again.

HAHAHAHAHAHA

18-0 WMU run and a banked 30-footer in overtime. What fun!

I'm going to sleep like a baby tonight!  Couldn't have happened to a better team.

Championship Game will be West vs. West for first time since '96, at SeaGate Center in Toledo, moved to Cleveland in 2000.

Akron "BLOWING" a 17pt halftime lead. Now that's just a damn shame!

How long has it been since a MAC tournament final didn't include either Akron, Kent or Ohio?

Hi Mike-I thought I heard it on the radio at halftime that if Akron made the MAC Finals it would be 8 years straight just for them, so it's been awhile.

Please don't misconstrue; I'm no fan of the 'Roo but 7 consecutive years in the Finals is really quite an accomplishment.

A few of them on Zippynation are blaming the refs, a day after they were mocking some on this board for blaming the refs.  Oh the irony.

The last MAC final without just Akron was 2006.  And they were in the semifinals that year, and the semifinals again this year.  Quite an impressive run.

Agreed, Mark. Whatever else might be said about Coach Dambrot, he has made Akron a consistent winner.

That was about as much as I've ever enjoyed the outcome of a MAC game not involving Ohio. I think my favorite part was Western's comeback starting the exact moment an NBA blogger I follow, smugly tweeting about Akron for the first time all year, asking in nice big capital letters, "WHO CAN STOP THE AKRON ZIPS?"

Don't twist your ankle jumping off the bandwagon there, Super Fan.

That was an EPIC loss for Akron.  Enjoyed every second of it. Should be super MAC Final with Toledo/WMU.  I think either could pull an upset or two in NCAA.

This is exactly why I did not want to see Akron get the NCAA bid again this year. They were enough of an embarrassment to the MAC last year. Can you imagine what this collapse during a round one game would do for the MAC's stature after last year's pathetic showing? Definitely pulling for Toledo, but WMU will also be acceptable.
