...needs to kindly STFU. This team was hit with more injury issues than any Bobcat team in at least 10 years. Yet time and time again, this squad embraced "next man up" and "Pack". Four players who did not start against Northern Iowa raised their games immensely over the course of the season. To win 23 games with the problems we've suffered is an incredible accomplishment!

I know it stings to lose when we played very well for the majority of the game. Believe me, this result feels just like the 2005 Kentucky loss and the Ohio State football loss in '08. But do you realize that we have the best record of any of the four other MAC teams playing tonight? I can handle a loss if we played well against a better team, and two Akron players who always give us problems had great games. Face it, Akron was a bigger, deeper, and more experienced team than we were this year.

Some of you who are consistently negative need to calm down for once.

I'm not saying they quit at all, but definitely drew the bad side of the officiating tonight.

This loss is nowhere near the disappointment of that Kentucky game. We had Kentucky dead to rights and Jeremy Fears was outplaying RAJON freaking RONDO. I'm still mad about that game nine years later. This team was a 19 or 20 win team at best I thought even if it was healthy. It competed, it came back in some wacky, fun ways and it won two tournament games with the tank on E. REally nice coaching job by JC and if they can figure out what the heck they're doing at guard, they can win 25 or 26 next year.

MAC STRATEGY: Remember, if you want to stop the other team, just hit the back board until it sways enough that all shots will rim out.

I would never say this team quit. I still stand by a statement I made a few weeks ago that if we had a healthy Ric to go with healthy Stevie, Mo, T.J. etc. we are the No. 1 seed. We don't lose to Kent, BG or Kron at home and we probably split with Western. That's 15-3 in the MAC and top seed. Then we're sitting till Friday. I tip my hat to guys like Setty, Tony, Bean and Trav who should have been role players and totally played above their respective pay grades when injuries forced it. I for one am looking forward to the CBI or CIT. I truly want to see this group play again. Love them.

OUr guys played their harts out and have nothing to be ashamed of. Akron managed to make a few more plays at the end and that was the difference.

At the end of the day I'd rather be a Bobcat fan and lose than be an Akron fan and win. Thanks seniors, and GO OHIO.

Yeah, no regrets on this loss. They left it all out there... just ran out of gas. Guess those byes turned out to be important. I felt like we played about as well as we could have. Losing sucks, but it's a loss I hope they can know they shouldn't be ashamed of.

Still, we ended Miami's season, so I'll take it. And I didn't give us much of a chance against WMU.

I'm as proud of this team as any in recent memory.  This group played as a TEAM all year.  No super egos on the floor. Congrats on a great season given all the challenges.

It's hard proving perspective an hour after a loss, but I'll try: I don't think any Bobcat team played harder. This team didn't have the talent of the past two years, but it sure competed as hard as it could.

Go Bobcats in whatever postseason tourney gives a call!

Lots of replies I agree with here. I told myself at the beginning of the week that I would be ecstatic if the team made it to Friday.

I'm not as dejected now. That Kentucky loss stuck with me much longer, but the way the games played out, I thought, were very similar.

Is absolutely clueless!  And, Ohio played Akron MUCH BETTER  than in last year's championship game for sure!

Record-wise, this team met my expectations. I picked them to go 11-7 in the MAC and they did. They were a #5 seed, which is where they should have been.

But I became more...attached...to this team than I thought. Lots of guts and grit that made the season fun. I didn't expect the level of excitement those games -- even the losses.

The season is not over yet....

The refs were pretty lousy all the way around tonight.  I thought Campbell(?) committed a pretty obvious over-and-back in the first half that wasn't called. But it seemed we got the worse of it.

I agree. They were fun and unselfish. They never quit as shown by there many comebacks. Players showed great development. I'll miss the seniors who helped elevate the program. But the progress of Setty, Bean, and Campbell with a healthy Ndour and Stevie. I'm excited to see that product. Not too mention all the talent between Jucos, redshirts, and incoming freshmen.

I suspect we will 've fighting for MAC title next year with Toledo, Buffalo and Akron.

23 wins for a banged up team says it all.  As does Shab's STFU comment to the fair weather, bandwagon types.

Say whatever you want, just like any game: some guys stepped up and some didn't.  Not a matter of playing hard or putting forth effort.  Much more a matter of bball IQ, court awareness and valuing each and every possession, espercially the last three minutes. Game over, end of story.
