This is the Dayton Flyers finding out they'll be playing OSU in the tourney.  Reminds me quite a bit of Ohio's reaction 2 years ago when the team found out they'd be playing Michigan...and we all know what happened next!

Here's Akron's reaction in finding out they drew VCU.

http://youtu.be/dKM9t0z7rNY

It reminds me a lot of every other mid-major team's reaction upon seeing they matched up against ___________.  And we all know what happened next!

Did you actually watch the videos though? The Dayton players were jumping up and down and literally had a mosh pit on each other. The Akron players stood up and clapped politely.

The videos were not even close to each other.

Every mid-major is excited.  That's my point.   A reaction to a matchup is not indicative of a future result.

I think what Ozcat is trying to say is Go Flyers.

A Lot of the state's population is/will be saying that! Would love to see a poll - not who Do you think will win, but who do you Want to win!

Dayton probably has to deal with band wagon OSU fans more than we do. and for the hell that must be Go Flyers, take what every other Ohio school wants to take

UD prolly has more "Walmart gear" fans than any school in the state outside tO$U (except maybe UC)

The dialogue around is interesting.  Just like most OSU fans, I would've loved to cheer the Flyers on, had the draw been any different.  The diehard OSU fans I know almost always cheer for the other state schools come tourney time, with the exception typically being UC.

Should be a good game.  Great story lines, as Dayton's leading scorer transferred from OSU because he couldn't get on the floor.  Sibert is shooting 44% from deep this season and I'd think OSU would love to have that right now.

Interesting note: The last in-state team to knockoff the Bucks was Toledo in 98.

Wonder where the video of the OHIO team and fans being chosen for the CBI tournament is?  Probably reflects how interested both are about this game.

Only redeeming grace is it is an in state rival that we need to beat if we really want to be relevant in the State when it comes to bball.

Was that also the last time OSU played on the road against an in-state opponent?

Probably no true roadies, but they do have NCAA tournament wins over Xavier and Cincinnati in the last 10 years.
