Well, since the tickets are only priced at $10, I'm guessing you're not going to take advantage of anyone, right?

I hope you're joking and that you realize Monroe's donated every cent he's received from his essentially donated season ticket purchase.

SBH--I have first call on these seats by dint of being a BobcatBlack season ticket holder.  If the season ticket holders don't buy 'em for this game, then they go on sale to the general public.   That's my understanding.

So, it's possible that one could get these type of tickets for face value on one's own at the box office.  If season ticket holders don't grab 'em.

I'll let those who used them speak, but I think that it's fair to say that folks don't end up paying a fortune for these seats and they get a pretty splendid experience.

I know that the comparison is not at all perfect, but I gotta think that one would pay a heckuva lot more for such seats at columbus or Dayton or Pitt, etc.

If anyone is interested, pm me with your bid.  It don't cost nothing to bid and you may surprise yourself by winning.  I'll put a floor (a minimum) at $18.04 a ticket.  Otherwise have at it.

Could be the last shot to see Nick, TJ, Wilkins, Ricardo, Jon...

Yes, true.  Just pointing out that unsold Black seats will be offered for $10 on Wednesday.

I think I have seen Schaus lean over to pick a penny off of the entrance ramp to the Convo - if they are open I seriously doubt they sell them for $10.

Somewhat OT question, but it kinda runs along with this thread..

Good chance the lower bowl is more packed with bodies than normal because season ticket holders not attending will not have their seats go unused? I am NOT criticizing people who buy season tickets when they can't attend. I think that is a great way to support the program. However, I would love to see a game where we actually have 99% of lower bowl seats used. I think the atmosphere would be extra electric in a game where that happened. Based on what I have read about the season ticket policies for this tournament, there is a good chance that could happen tomorrow.

I don't remember the specifics of our last CBI. I know the opponent wasn't as compelling, but what was the crowd like? Assuming low number but fairly lively?

Pretty unfair to Schaus.  Same guy who launched the tour of coaches to major cities so alumni can reconnect with the programs…who spearheaded the fundraising for the IPF, lobbied to get all seats replaced in the Convo, is planning an academic center in Peden.  The guy has been anything but tight with a buck; he has proven that you have to spend money to make more money.

Last CBI game was the inagural season of the CBI vs Brown at Home.. It was a Tuesday night with several posters here leading the charge NOT to play in this game. Spring Break at the COnvo IIRC. Smallish crowd. The younger Huffman hung a bunch of 3's on us. Bert and Ernie were an undermining force to the guys who wanted to keep playing. They wanted to go on spring break. it was a small crowd and I am not going to rationalize it butinstead look and rejoice in how far this fanbase has come and the sights and emotions we have seen and felt since then. Hope we keep this linear ascent into Big Time basketball going from that last week of that particular season. It all changed a few weeks later.

We won the Brown game and went to the Civic Center in Peoria vs Bradley. That place was pretty full and very loud. bert and Ernie really wrecked the game to the point even TOS was disgusted and sat them down. Rhodes and Ku were beyond words. Leon, Bubba and Tilly played their guts out but could not overcome the hole they had dug.

IIRC ...someone help me here....that CBI appearance got us in the O Reillly tourneys at UL the next season and paid for the CBI appearance.

JC did a great job in the papers telling why he supports the secondary tournaments and thinks minds need to change on it.  I saw someone on here or an article mention how I believe VCU won the CBI and then the next year made their run through the NCAA Tourney.  But you need a team and a fan base invested to win one of these tournaments, you can't just half ass it.  Especially when you consider how much easier it is to make a bowl than get an invite to one of these tournaments.

I remembered it being a small crowd, was thinking 3K, but I just pulled up the box score and it was EMU levels of bad... 1,169. Ouch. I hope we got the money back in a tourney, because the CBI bends host schools over to the tune of $60K. (luckily the CIT is like half that)

It was Winter Quarter finals week as well, not quite Spring Break yet.

This absolutely was the case for the MAC tourney game last week. Small group in comparison, but almost all lower seats were taken up.

And part of why we are in CIT. And why those seats I bet go for more than $10. Just sayin'..........

They did not sell Black seats to general public - only the season Black seat holders had option

That was the smallest crowd I ever remember for a men's basketball game at the Convo, including exhibitions. I think we picked up the buy game against Xavier the following year to pay for it.
