Comparing him to last year's senior group, I will take Nick over every one of them. I know Coop is amazing and his jersey will be retired but Nick's jersey better be retired before it's all said and done. Guys, we just witnessed the career of the ALL TIME MAC 3-POINT LEADER! Classy team leader and I hope we get several more games in some sort of tourney just so we can watch him more.

Nick Kellog played maybe one of his best games and left it all out there on the floor. Unfortunately our bigs were terrible.

Unlike last year's team, I think this team will be pretty fired up to play whatever game/s come next. I can't imagine Ndour will sleep particularly well tonight. Hopefully they channel the anger and disappointment into their next effort.

whether in basketball or some other field, I'm betting that we have not heard the last of Nick Kellogg...gonna be fun seeing what this young man accomplishes in the years to come...

As one gets older, the years literally fly by.  It seems like it was just a few months ago--not 4 years ago--that I ran into Nick's dad at the Memorial Tournament in Columbus and told him how much I was looking forward to seeing his sons play for the Bobcats (we all remember that Alex had transferred to Ohio, but later chose not to suit up).

I don't know if I've ever seen a player who accomplished so much takemore hindsight crap out of the blue than D.J. Cooper.

He's Ohio's Wilt Chamberlain.

I was simply comparing some seniors last year to this year. As good as D.J. was, and he was great, probably the greatest outside of the Shaq of the MAC, but I would take Nick's senior year over D.J.'s. Heck, I would take D.J.'s freshman year or junior year over his senior year.

I understand. That title game was just painful to watch. And my statement was too simplistic. I just bristle at the way he's been portrayed since he left. He was a mercurial player and never a perfect one, but I just feel like people suddenly have emphasized his weaknesses since he left. If the Sweet 16 had happened his senior year, that wouldn't have happened. If he hadn't raised the bar so high in 2010, that wouldn't have happened last year.

Nick was the more steady player I'd compare to Walt Offut or Mychal Green. I LOVE those guys. But Cooper was a different player who could lead you to a win against any team in the country.

I'm just glad Ohio has had all those guys.

Back to the original thread: Thank you, Nick, for your years of incredible play. You have been a joy to watch. It's always difficult to reflect on a loss, but what a final game you had in a Bobcat jersey.

We'll miss you, and we look forward to hearing more about your future successes. Best wishes!

Edit: Heck, I forgot for a moment that the season's not over! Whatever postseason tourney calls us, let's go win some more games. Happy we'll see Nick suit up for however many more games we get.

Agree wholeheartedly with all the positive comments about Nick.  A class kid who gave his all to the team, all the time.  May success and happiness accompany him at every stage of his life!

Kellogg avatar time - decided I'll use my avatar for great seniors and keep it until the next class of seniors hit March.

(Will next year be Stevie or N'Dour - who knows!?!?)
